  1. It's good! There's a book called: Shakespeare's Secret , featuring a girl called Hero, maybe you should check it out.

  2. hmm... when I think of the name Hero, I think of a Japanese male

  3. Its ok but not for todays society. I like Nevaeh (Heaven spelt backwards) Good luck and Congrats

  4. i think definitely as a middle name, it's very nice, different, unusual... ps. if you plan on calling your child ophelia, dont make her middle name balls!

sorry, that was a bad joke.

    : ]

  5. i don't like it, but as a middle name it isn't too bad.

  6. yeah for a middle name

  7. not really

  8. Hmm a bit too unconventional for a first name, but perfect for the middle as she can use it when shes older if she likes it,but avoid playground teasing.

  9. I dont like it. Sorry. You might want to pick a name that means Hero. Like the greek name Opehila. That means help. But hey its your choice. Do whatever you like.

  10. I like it, plus it's a great play. I would just wonder if people thought it was a boy's name though.

But don't let that stop you!

  11. Hmm, to be honest i'm not sure. I don't think it will fit in with today's culture, although perhaps thats a reason to choose it! I mean, it's definately different, excellently unique.

And what alovely reason to call her it!

For those reasons, i'd say yes. Imagine telling her why she's called it, it's so special!

But like i said, i'd have to think about it. And you'd have to know the first name aswell, to see if it matches.

    Good luck :)

  12. I can be your hero baby..

He'll get beat up at school i think

  13. It reminds me of the Geek from Alexadria who mucked about with steam engines.

  14. i think it's a really cool name, i played her when we read much ado about nothing in class. however, if i had to name a baby that, i would make it the middle name. i would never name a baby that. when she's in her 20's, no one would hire a girl called hero and she be embarassed of her name by the time she's forty

  15. I don't know...people won't really refer to it from the Shakespeare play and only will think of it as the actual word and the name is quite uncommon. It might be annoying to explain the 'meaning' of the name' every time someone asks about it. Of course you want an original, maybe somewhat exotic or mysterious name/middle name for your child but if you go too extreme on that it may be hard on both of you later on in life.

  16. There should be a panel of judges  when you go to register your baby names to prevent parents from calling their babies names like that. In my profession I come across some horrible and mean names eg - Jack (first name) Russel (last name) Terrible and cruel.

Your NOT being cruel with this choice, at all, but your child will be paid out at school. I know you want a beautiful name for your little girl but you can do better than this..

  17. yeah maybe for a middle name but not for a first name, i mean you know how cruel kids can be

  18. Sounds like a sandwich, or some TV show.  Not a good name for a child, if you care about what they must go through about their name.

  19. NO NO NO

  20. Stupid name.

  21. My friend's called Hero and she absolutly hates it! Plus she's just studied 'Much Ado About Nothing' in English so now everyone knows where it's from. I alredy knew but not many people did.
