What do you think of the name Julie?

Question

I have a friend with this name. She hates it, I like it. What do you think? Is it assigned to any stereotypical personality? Like...Brittany is often a name associated with cheerleaders. Anything like that?

(no offense to any Brittany's out there...just an example)

No, I actually don't think of a cheerleader type girl.

The only Julie I knew was an obese Russian lady so I think of her.

Lol...my little sister is named Julie, and she's a bugger. I love her to death though, she's so hilarious and crazy.

But personally I wouldn't name my daughter that.

It's a common name, but not that bad. When I think Julie, I think of brainy people.

Julie is quite common.  It's a nice name though!  Although, I prefer Julia.

I actually really like this name.  I like Julia too... I've tried to get my husband to like Julia and he's not a big fan.  I don't think its stereotypical and it doesn't automatically remind me of a cheerleader, for example.  I think it's a sophisticated name.

I quite like it. But most Julie's I know are around 50 so in terms of stereotypes I think of a lovely stylish middle aged woman. I don't know many young people with that name.

Julie is plain jane and that is what I associate it with. I don't find Brittany to be so common, however, and would not associate it with cheerleaders..I also love its short form, Bree.
