  1. Think of her as an adult professional - does Meggy work?  Just name her Megan and use Meggy for a nickname then when she's older she can go by her full name.

  2. It's fine as a nickname for Megan. But it sounds very close to Peggy - which is really old fashioned. I probably wouldn't use it by itself for that reason. :-)

  3. Not good. It rhymes with "smeggy" and if I've spotted it you can be sure cruel children will spot it.

Also it's the sort of name that might sound cute on a baby or toddler but on an older girl or grown up woman, not so much.

  4. megan is a nice name but meggy sounds horrible...like an old lady who lives with her cats and smells of eggs

  5. I like the name Megan, but not Meggy

  6. Megan is prtty, meggy is horrible!!! Sounds like a cat!!!

If it is a bit common, pick a different name altogether. How about Teagan (tee-gan) or tee-guhn.

    hope i helped =] xo

  7. only meggy for short

    x

  8. I have to be honest with you, it's cute, but far too original. :] Maybe Mehgie??? So odd spelling to add some pizazz =D

    Congrats on the baby.

  9. Meggy is fine for a little girl, but not sure its suitable for an adult and remember the cute little girl will grow up

  10. Yeuch. Dreadful.

Is OK as a diminutive for Megan or Margaret so why not do the poor child a huge favour and go with one of those?

  11. Please please give her a more formal name like Megan or Margaret and use Meggy as a nickname!

  12. Yes, I like it but as a nickname so if I was you I would name her Megan and then nickname her Meggy....to just name her that is like a dog's name.

  13. I think it is really cute. Makes me think of Nutmeg.

  14. It does nothing for me.

  15. I think it sounds more like a nickname than an actual name.

    Megan is nice though

  16. Meggy is a cute nickname - but I don't like the name Megan. Also Meggy doesn't sound like a full name in its own right. Megara? Nutmeg??? hmm...

Margaret/Margarite - could be shortened to Maggie or Meggy.

  17. i don't like Meggy or Megan, i don't know why

  18. Sorry not a fan..Megan is ok.. go 4 something different and unique as u said meagan is real popular where ur from!!

  19. i know a little girl called Megan that they call Meggy! I think its sweet but people will still assume its a pet name from Megan.  Maybe spell Megan differently but still call her Meggy anyway? Meaghan is the more traditional spelling.

  20. Meggy is great for a baby or a young child, however I do think there is a chance she will hate it when she becomes an adult. If you are set on it, I would call her Megan / Meghan and shorten it to Meggy for as long as she is happy with it.

  21. Meggy sounds like a pets name.

I too am trying to think of baby names and look on here for some inspiration. But, I think if you have to have to ask people what they think, for some approval then maybe you aint that sure about the name. No one likes the same names, its making sure that you like the name and it suits your child.

    I really can't find a girls name I like!!!!!

  22. i love it....i like Megan too...Meggy is usually a nickname for Megan.  i have loved that name ever since The Thorn Birds on tv!!

  23. thats not a name. its a nickname.

  24. My cousin's name is Megan and my grandma calls her Meggy but I would not do that unless her name is Megan or if you want to call her Margret I know someone with that name and she goes by Meg so you could just do that but call her Meggy.
