My maiden name is McQuaid which means son of Quaid. If you like it, any ideas on a middle name?

My last name is Wright. So I like the way it looks but I am sure I am biased

Anyways... thank you in advance...

  1. Sorry, ummm..no.

  2. Sorry, I really don't like it at all.  McQuaid is great for a last name, but Quaid is really bad.  Sounds like you're trying too hard to be different, even if it means something important to you.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear...

  3. The name Quaid sounds like Dennis or Randy Quaid.  Sorry, but I don't like it.

  4. I agree with PP who said Quaid Wright sounds harsh together.  Including a middle name does smooth it out but how often will he be referred to by his full name?  I do like Quaid as a middle name though.

  5. I think it may be a little much for a first name. If you husband doesn't like it but you are totally in love with it why don't you compromise and see if he likes the idea of Quaid being a middle name

  6.    I am all for being different. But this doesn't flow.

As a teacher, it is going to be difficult for this child to learn to spell and write because of the letters involved. These often are not the first letters taught. It just might be one thing you want to consider.

I would try for something different. What about Aiden?

  7. I think it would be better as a middle name.

I think you answered my question too.  Maybe we both need to stick with maiden names as middle names.

PS I've never heard Retardy Garvey even as I was growing up.  I did hear gravy train though! lol

    Good luck!

  8. Great idea to include your history/heritage.  This name is a little out there, but it sounds nice.  Go for it!

  9. too new age

  10. I think that Quaid as the middle name sounds MUCH better.

  11. Quaid Wright sounds a bit harsh together because they are both one syllable. It's not terrible but I don't know if it flows. Would you consider using Quaid as a middle name?

If not, I would pick something with at least 2 or 3 syllables for a middle name.

    Quaid Nicholas Wright

    Quaid Christopher Wright

    Quaid Owen Wright

    Quaid Alexander Wright

  12. Quaid Michael Wright - pair it with something simple and it's a very strong name.

  13. I like Quaid but not to sure for a name.  I understand that its your name but perhaps Quinn or Quentin instead.  I've always thought Quest would also be a nice unique name for a boy.  Maybe Quaid can be his middle name.  But if its something you like, go for it.  My sons first name is very common so we call him by his middle name. If your spouse doesn't like the first name perhaps you can call him by his middle.  Here are some ideas.

    Quaid Hunter

    Quaid Chase

    Quaid Troy

    Quaid Riley

    Quaid Vincent

    Good Luck!!!!!

  14. I like it.  I would def choose the middle name wisely though.  Have something that is a little bit longer to even both the names out.  Something like Quaid Lucas Wright.  But I think it sounds fine.  People will get used to it.  And I think that your son will learn to spell any name given to him.  My maiden name is a shocker, one of those lovely polish sirnames, and I had trouble in school learning to spell it, but once you learn its nothing.  Do what you feel is right and I think it is a lovely idea what you are trying to do by incorporating your maiden name into your childs first name...  Good luck.
