I do not know what the others are saying , but in the Greek language Camilla means CAMEL !!!

It's an ancient Roman name. In Roman mythology Camilla was the princess of the Volscians, a warrior and huntress who took part in the war against the invading Trojans. She was such a fast runner she could run across the sea without getting her feet wet and across a field of grain without bending any of the plants. So, a pretty cool name for a feisty athletic girl.

Well, you know, it's impossible to think of the name without picturing Camilla Parker Bowles Windsor. So, thumbs down.

I like it.  I have a Czech friend whose name is Kamila, which is the Czech equivalent.  But with that spelling, Camilla Parker Boles does come to mind for me as well.
