  1. i honestly think the name is cute

    but i know a girl with that name she spells it Kacee

    shes mean though. i dont like her..

    but the name is very cute.

    not that all kaci's are like that.

  3. I really like the name, spelled Casey.  I like it for a boy or a girl.  Really cute!

  4. It's a sweet nickname, but as a given name, it's just not enough.

    A 5 y.o. called Kaci?  Sure.  A 14 y.o. cheerleader called Kaci?  Why not?

    But as an adult, it would be very tough to be taken seriously with a four-letter, ends-in-"i" name.  My sister has a name like this, and despite an Ivy League education and an impressive career, she's still living down her flimsy name.  My name wasn't much better, though at least it ended with a "y" - still, I legally changed it.

    By all means, choose a name for your daughter that you love, but remember that someday she'll be a grown-up, and odds are she'll appreciate a more serious name for more serious occasions.

    You could use:

    Katherine Cecilia

    Kate Christine (or anything to get the initials KC)

    Kassandra

    Kasilde

    Though I think both Cassandra and Casilde are far more appealing versions of the name - I suppose she could be Casi.

    Casilde is a really interesting choice - it's a Spanish name pronounced cah SEEL day.  Unusual, but strong.

    ETA:  Kaci Lilly doesn't get at the heart of the problem - she'd be in the uncomfortable position of having a cutesy nickname on her college diploma, resume and business card.  I suppose she could go by K. Lilly as an adult, but it makes more sense to give your child a name they grow into, rather than one they have to hide.  (In the process of escaping by little girl given name, I'm now known by my middle name - it can be a headache.)
