  1. It's hideous, and all you Twilight fans are going to wish you didn't name your kids after your favorite books.  A) once you grow up you will realize what a steaming pile of literary poo-poo Twilight is, and you'll be embarrassed.  B) there will be twenty-five other Renesmes in your daughter's school.

Also, that's just a god-awful name.  It belongs on the pages of a fantasy book, not on a human being.

Just ask all the Hermiones and Belatrixes out there whose moms are Harry Potter fans.  They'll all be old enough to talk soon, and they'll all hate their names.

  2. When you grow up, you'll realize those are not good names for people.

  3. Isabella a.k.a. "Bella" for short would be a lot better.

  4. the name reminds me of resemay but if you like it then go for it. im not a fan..

  5. icky

  6. it works for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOsqV1yXz...

  7. no offense but yuck..the name is not so pretty..

  8. While I read the Twilight books as well, I would not recommend naming your daughter Renesmee. Even though you think it is a beautiful name, it will ALWAYS be associated with the book, because it obviously never entered anyone's mind but Stephanie Meyer.

I agree with you that every name has been used in a book or play... h**l, my name's Rebecca and I have two books! And my parents aren't fans of ghosts or Sunnybrook Farm. The difference is that this name was *created* by a book. It's like the difference between a star wars fan naming their kid Luke or Obi-Wan. Luke is a common name, whereas Obi-Wan.... isn't. At least pre 1970's.

One last suggestion: the name Renesmee is proving not to be very popular with fans, which could add to teasing when your daughter grows up. I agree with the people who said to use it as her middle name. If you were to choose to use it as a first name you would have to brace yourself if she decided to go by her middle name later in life.

  9. I think it's quite pretty but I wouldn't use it as a name for my own child.

Twilight is not gonna go down in history as an epic literary series ... especially since so many people really hated this last book. It IS just the literary trend of the moment, and I think a name should be more meaningful.

It made me think of combining names of my own family members though, to create new names as Bella did. Maybe that would be nicer to do.

  10. LOL Im a huge fan too. I had to keep going back to the page where Bella said how you pronounced it while I was reading it.

I like Renesmee Lynn Disney :D

  11. Esmée would be just fine, Renesmee is a little much. I love Twilight too, but Renesmee isn't the prettiest name in that book. I have both Alice and Rosalie on my list, but not because I love the book. I actually had them in mind before I read Twilight. I've been a fan of Alice for YEARS and I'm very disappointed that every time I see it, it's connected to Twilight. ):

  12. I think it would be ok for a baby. But keep in mind that your daughter might have a hard time later and will have to spell her name practically every day. She will probably end up with a nickname because it would be just easier.

How about using the name as a middle name?

    Marie Renesmee

    Lynn Renesmee

That way she'll still have a story to tell about her name!

  13. i agree with gary 7

  14. not a fan.

  15. whatever you want. in my opinion, it's a little embarrassing. try something a little less embarrassing but a little showoffy, like Siobhan or Vance. those are the names i'm going to name my future children (i'm not expecting)
