I love the name Aubrie, but like it much better spelled the traditional way- Aubrey. I do not like the name Shawnnie. I like prissy girls names like Aubrey, Gracie, Maggie, Chloe, etc. I just don't like it when people mutilate the spellings of kids names. Hope this helps & best wishes on your bundle of joy!

I named my 12 year old son Aubrey after a actor in a Shirley Temple movie.  It is originally a boys name.

Aww..I think both names are cute!  Shawnnie is different and rarely heard of and that's exactly why I like it!  Other spellings could be:

Shawnei

Shawney

Aubrie is ok, it could be for a boy or girl. Audrey is pretty for a girl.

At least have the courtesy to spell the Native American tribe correctly. It's Shawnee not Shawnnie. If I were a Native American, I'd be highly offended by your discourtesy. Would you name a child Seminole, Apache, or Nez Percé? I doubt it.

I prefer the traditional spelling of Aubrey but you apparently prefer "cutesy". At least Aubrey/Aubrie is a traditional name and not an insult.
