I'm thinking of buying an xbox 360 60gb today. I already have a playstation 3, but would like to buy a console to play on in the bedroom. What does everyone think of it? and is there any changes to it? I did have an xbox 360 premium a few months ago, but exchanged it for a playstation 3. And with the new pinata game coming out, I'm thinking about getting one. Are there any improvements with the new xbox on the three red lights? we had changed our old xbox twice for those 3 red lights, complete nightmare!!!

  1. Link to infor about 360 RRoD problems and solutions.

This also has info about how they've changed the 360 to be less unstable.

I have had my Xbox 360 elite for a long time and it has working faultlessly but I dont know if these changes got replicated to the White consoles. I believe they use the same mainboard so they should actually be as stable as every other Xbox currently being produced.

On the flipside why would Microsoft still produce fault Xbox' when it is detremental to their income and profits. As most people know they already lose money on every console they sell, but make this money back on games and merchandise.

I would say you are pretty safe on buying one but have no first hand experience as they haven't long been out.

Hope this information is helpful towards your decision.

  2. It doesn't have RAM chips on the bottom of the board which will help with heat. It also has the 65nm CPU which will help with heat. They are the same as they were, but will run cooler.

  3. The 60GB PRO is the same as the 20GB Premium but with the added benefit of more storage. The newer systems are much improved over the original models, i've had mine for over a year and never suffered a RROD problem at all. In the end it's down where you keep your xbox and how hot it might get whilst in use. Towards the end of the year Microsoft will be releasing an update which changes the look of the 360 completely and adds in more features, this can be seen in the video at http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/e3-2008/nxe.ht... . As a side note, i loved the original viva pinata and i think the new one is looking awesome :)
