What do you think of the new shorter 1000 ft. run for top fuel / funny car in NHRA?

  1. It most certainly screws up all the old records and stuff, but it's probably for the better.  I'm surprised they didn't do some kind of new regulation or a safer car (like NASCAR), but a 1000ft track will give spectators a better view, make things a tad bit tighter, and the cars will still get up to 300mph.  People don't like change, so complaints are only natural, but overall, it is best for the sport and more importantly, the drivers.


  2. I think this will all work out in the end for NHRA and the fan base, after all they are trying to make the racing safer for the drivers. You will still see some  fast cars for a short period of time until they do the analyst on Scott Kalittas race car, just not as fast  as you would like. The fans may not like the 1000 foot shut down, but the crew chiefs will figure out how to make the cars go fast even with the shorter track now, give them time, Denver is the first track they are trying it at.
