In my opinion the acting is bad and a few of the characters get on my nerves but I will still continue to watch it to see what happens to Amy. I'm hooked. Also, do you think the show is effective in it's goal to help prevent teen pregnancy? Or do you think it only enhances the pressure on teens to have s*x. I think the show will make teens think more but I do think it adds to the pressure since the show is filled with sexual content.

  1. it is like the best show Abc family has come out with besides Kyle XY!! it  teaches teenagers both ways. some might think its cool cause the girls in the movie are doing it. right now it isnt teaching anyone anything cause she never had the baby and she is not taking care of it too well. it is also teaching kids not to tell there parents and they should tell their parents immediatly.

  2. I love that show. I just graduated highschool and finally, there's a show on TV that actually relates to every high schoolers life. Almost everyone in highschool is having s*x or has had s*x. And most of the time, the kids who aren't are the "jesus freaks." Its so similar to real life that my friend and i were watching it together tonight when it was on, when she told me she had had s*x just last night. It happens all to frequently now a days and kids are having kids. I'll admit, i'm not a virgin either. I think the show would enhance kids' decision to think it was "cool" to be sexually active, but when "Amy" talks and has her speech at the end of the show, it definitely brings back the traditional "7th Heaven" moral of a story kind of show. I love the show and i wait for it all week. I also thank god every day that i'm not a pregnant 15 year old girl. And I bet Shailene Woodley or "Amy" is thankful for just being the character to such a difficult life.

  3. To a point, it is very realistic. The way people think of Christians, and such is very true.

Other points, aren't so realistic, and the acting is okay, not great, about like 7th Heaven was (same writers, obviously) Besides, the impression that Christian families are weird, and constantly overbearing is a little overboard. Alot of the characters are too dramatic, and not believable at all. But, you know, it's just a show. It's much better than alot of the other abc family original shows have been...

It will help atleast one person out, so I think it is worth having on the air, plus I kind of like it.

  4. i absolutly love the show, and i think it's a good way to help prevent teen pregnancy, because tehy see what amy's going through, and i dont think a teen wants to go through that, well thats what i think, i mean im a 14 year old girl, and after seeing what amy's been through, i deffffffinitly wont be doing anything!

  5. i love the show!! if anyone missed it go to abcfamily.com, when you get there then go to the top and click where it it says watch, then you click shows and find wat you want to watch and click on it!!! hope i helped!!!

  6. I love that show! Probably since it's created by the director of 7th heaven and i loved 7th heaven a lot. I couldn't agree more about the bad acting though. I think that Amys two best friends are the worst actors...by far. But I overlook that because I love the plot of the show. And also I think that teens are going to do what they want and they aren't going to listen to anyone. They're just at that age. I wish that this show would prevent teen pregnancies, but honestly I don't think it will have a big effect. We can only hope and pray that a teen never gets pregnant.

  7. i like the show but i think its totally unrealistic of the american teenager. the kids are all 15 and they are all s*x obsessed. at least with my high school experience, i never saw this at my school.  it also kind of bothers me that the plot seems to be moving really quickly. tonight was only the third episode and ben and amy already said they loved each other. i think that this is also unrealistic and kind of strange.

and i do not think that this will help prevent pregnancy. all of the kids act like s*x is not a big deal at all. maybe as the show progresses they will begin to understand how s*x affects lives but right now i dont think it will accomplish the goal of preventing teen pregnancy.

  8. Even though I am a lot older than the intended audience, love it, but it's not because of all the s*x.  I do love Grace's character, but I also love the relationship between Amy and her new boyfriend.  I'm a hopeless romantic.

  9. I think it's ok

but your right, the acting sucks.

I just hate the fact that they make teens look like the only thing on there mind is s*x, it's really not always on our mind.

I don't think it glorifies teen s*x, I think it shows the consequences, and that pregnancy is no joke.

    :]

  10. i like it only because the plot is intriguing.

but i think the acting sucks and its completely fake. people dont talk to each other like that in real life.

  11. i don't like it i can't relate.

i never dated at that age  mainly because i didn't have a crush on any one.

i never wanted to have s*x until i was out of school and mentally , emotionally, and physically ready.

and i have a great relationship with my mother i can talk to her about anything if need be

i just can't relate to it one bit.

i saw  bit of an episode where the girl found out she was pregnant and i was p.o. but her friends tell her to lie about the babies father i just hated it.

i never could hurt another person for my own good so thats why i don't get it.

i hope someone learns something from it at least

    I'm 18 by the way

  12. the acting is cheesy, but the storyline has also hooked me. what I don't understand is how they are trying to talk about abstinence and waiting until marriage when it's sort of a mixed message, you've got Amy who has only done it once....Ricky is the dad, but Ricky has constantly been sleeping with Adrian and she has not come out pregnant. it does raise some questions. s*x or not? safe s*x or not? it is alittle confusing at the same time.

they do a good job with the subliminal messages about various pressures. will they go to the next level and give someone an STD?????

  13. i think its good. ehh i think your right. it will probably make teens think more about their actions. but then again its only a tv show. so it will probably have little affect. it also depends on the person. in my opionion, its a good show.

  14. OMG i love that show it is amazing! My bro and i watch it every tuesday. like ten mins before the show im like"omg it almost on its almost on!" then when it is on im likerunning around the house yelling "omg its on!"

yeah but im only 13 so im not really worried about that kinda stuffs

  15. i like it but i've only seen the first one i keep missing it was it on tonight?

    d**n..

uhh is there any website that i can watch it on??

i jsut got done watching episode 2 i loveitttttttt

  16. i think it is a thing that can prvent it because she goes through a lot of problems and the thing is that those could happen to any one that becomes pregant as a teenager i know i wouldnt it would be to much drama and that would be hard on everyone aroud you

  17. i LOVE IT!

but i think they overexxagerate the characters of Adrian and Grace. I mean really. What girl is really that S****y to go around offering herself to every guy she sees? And what girl is such a jesus freak that all she talks about is church s**t? lol. and ricky is really hott =]

  18. i absoutley love the show, i'm gonna make sure i don't miss even one episode. i think it'll make girls think harder about their decision on whether they want to lose their virginity at a young age or not, but i mean when it comes down to the time where they get caught up in the moment, the secret life of an american teenager show isn't going to stop them. do you know what i mean? maybe itll help girls get more help if their thinking about it though.

  19. I think the show is really good. I like it. I think it shows teens like they really are, because a lot of them are obssessed with s*x, and it shows how nervous you can be to have a first boyfriend/girlfriend. When I graduated  a lot of the girls were pregnant, so it relates a lot to my high school.

  20. I love this show! I think it does put a positive influence on people. (there's a little message about teen preg. at the end of every episode)

    *edit

I think people missed yesterdays episode about the doctor calling Ricky and saying it's been a while since he came in, and if he dosen't come in, he's going to call his mother. (he might have an std, or maybe HIV/AIDS)

    (just pointing that out)

  21. i <333 it soo much.... i am so hooked i cant wait till next week! i think it does help prevent teen pragnancy cuz its showing how hard it is to deal wit it wit all the other things gonna on in ur life

  22. its a wicked good show and the only person who gets on my nerves is "jack", ugh he has a huge head. also i think it will pervent teenage pregnancy's. like noticeing how everything is changing for he should really make us think. =D

  23. It's intriguing. I personally think that the episodes are a little bit dragging. However, it is a good plot line and I find it interesting how open teens are in the show about discussing s*x. Although I know it is prevalent among teenagers, the way they talk about it is like throwing around a baseball. Although it might seem a little unrealistic in that regard, it definitely makes me think about the consequences of the actions of today's youth.

btw-- the abc family website puts the full episodes on the following day. It's the only way I can watch it =)

  24. i love this show!

and seeing what amy is going through made me not want to have s*x even protected s*x in high school. im 13 and im gonna be a freshmen in the fall. i think that the christan thing is over-exagerated tho. no i dont think it adds to the pressure because it shows what ot would be like if you got pregnant.

  25. i just watched the first 2 shows of it

and whether or not it will help prevent or increase the want of pregancy i dont know i think it depends on the person i think prevent because maybe people will see the consequeces of doing it when you are not married and that you will go though a hard time and you teenage years will be ruined

but i dont know i thought that show was going to be stupid but like the others im hooked

  26. I agree with you. I am 100% hooked, and watch it every Tuesday. Amys two friends (in my opinion) are bad actors...I don't know why but it just seems that way to me. I think its doing a decent job, because its making teens maybe see how it effects other people, not just the girl.

  27. I think it makes it seem like EVERY teenager gets pregnant. When I was in highschool, (about 3 years ago) NO ONE got pregnant. It makes teenagers look can't keep their legs closed. And no matter what, SOMEONE is going to blame their daughters pregnancy on it.

  28. Love it!! It's true the acting isn't really good, but you have to admit that the plot it intriguing, a lot more than any of the other **** people watch.

  29. I love that show. :) I think its in a way showing that "if you have s*x, this could be the concequence." then showing it through Amy's life.

It's just about one teenager's life, and I don't think they're making it show that teenagers are ALL about s*x. This is just one aspect. I mean obviously there's other stuff that teenagers would do, but they just chose to direct the setting to "Teenage s*x" and all that jazz.

But all in all it's a good show, and I just want to know what Amy will do in the end. :)

  30. i love it<3

but ricky is a man w***e lol

  31. I  love 7th Heaven and they keep plugging Secret Life as made with one of the same people.  I can see similarities between the two shows overall but this is not the same family type show.  The acting is pretty rough but I think the actors can grow into their roles if the show continues.  I think the praying to God comes off pretty thick and therefore very cheesy.  I'm a strong Christian and even the acting during those Christian moments makes my stomach turn.  I love the idea but they need to work on that.  I was hoping this would be another show I could watch with my 10 year old but the pregnancy and teen s*x message is so thick that it's just not for her age range.  So far the show is very focused on sexual relationships.  There's Jack & Ricky (and even the Asian couple were making out this past show) who are all focused on s*x.  Ben is thankfully a good guy (although he said he wanted to get laid and so he'd have to "start somewhere") but we all know that his heart is going to be broken the longer Amy waits.  So the message is definately not such a great one.  It might be somewhat like real life high school nowadays but it's only focusing on the s*x and relationships.  There's no one really with a job or battling depression or drugs or even cigarettes.  We see enough of that but there's no  balance in this show.  The storyline needs to move along here and fast or the show will be cancelled.
