  1. Sorry I'm American, so I don't know what you are asking about.

In response to a previous answer, however. Yes, term limits in Congress would be great. There also should be a mechanism to upon a national voter initiated election where we can remove the entire Congress from office and elect all new Senators and Representatives. I would call it the toilet flushing amendment, where we proverbially flush the toilet and dispose of the contents of the Congress.

  2. Have you lot ever stopped to think, that this is exactly what the Elite want?, I think stay a United Kingdom under our great Constitution, and divorce the EU and prosecute all those who have commit treason, only then can we get back to normality, and sort out immigration etc.

  3. The Campaign for an English Parliament are advocating something which is incompatible with and dangerous to the United Kingdom.

Symbologically, the UK Parliament is sitting on the ground which was historically that of the Parliament of England and it would be problematic for one or the other to be located elsewhere from its historic home.  There would be an enormous degree of confusion over the two Parliaments' roles and inevitably a lot of conflict.

Firstly, there is no real consensus on where the United Kingdom ends and England begins.  On a purely geographical basis, it is abundantly clear, but in terms of institutional issues, England's power even now extends far beyond its borders.  The Welsh Assembly, for example, currently only has legislative authority over secondary legislation - that is to say, it cannot amend any laws passed by Westminster without provisions in the UK Act allowed the Welsh Assembly to do so.  In many other aspects England and Wales are still so thoroughly blended in administrative and institutional questions that to divorce England from Wales would cause far more harm than good.

England has something like 60-70% of the total GDP of the UK, and about 75% of the population.  An English Parliament would have nearly absolute control over the UK economy and would likely enact laws to the detriment of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, unless it were given powers inferior to those of Scotland's Parliament.  Likely this would lead to further conflict between Westminster and the English Parliament, and if England were to get its way, we could see an accelerated breakup of the British Union.

Finally, and probably most importantly, England in nearly every General Election returns a Conservative majority on its own.  The other main parties depend on Wales and Scotland for their extra seats.  What would be the implications of a Labour government in power in Westminster, and a Tory government in power in the English Parliament?  Given the UK's dependency on English wealth and geography, the rest of the UK would be at the uttermost mercy of this creature.  Any radical or social reforms a left-leaning party would seek would be blocked in the English Parliament, leading to a complete loss of confidence in Westminster, and hence the Union.

It seems like a simple exercise to establish an English Parliament but such a move would cause incredible damage to the UK and hasten its destruction.  Those who support the Union should oppose such a radical notion as an English Parliament and seek another way to salve England's justified grievances.  But this is in no way a desirable option.

I am English, and my family is English as far back as we can trace, and I love my country, England, and Great Britain, and I oppose an English Parliament.

  4. The English should back this organisation. We are either British or English. If we can not vote on Scottish issues then why should the Scottish MPs vote on English issues.

  5. I will keep our consitituion thank you.  What we do need though is term limits for congress to get the dead wood out

  6. I fully support it and for a start we should clear out all the Scots from Westminster. Let them devolve but let them pay their own way - and the same with Wales. If they no longer want to be a part of our once great Britain then let them support themselves!
