What do you think of the penalty handed out to Steve Johnson by Geelong FC?

""The club ordered Johnson to do 50 hours of road trauma education with road trauma victims and their families over the next two years.""

Cats chief executive Brian Cook defended the club against claims the sanctions were soft despite Johnson previously being involved in three alcohol related incidents.

Johnson said he had no excuse for his actions and that he had had a "brain freeze".

He has lost his drivers licence for 12 months, had his car impounded at the time and faces fines in court and possible charges.

I think it's fair enough. He's copping enough from the courts for his silly behaviour.

  1. Too soft.

  2. Part good, part bad. The education will work. Drivers license needs to go away for 2-3 years. No longer allowed to have a car or maybe never to drive again.

He needs a mentor to help him learn to live properly.

  3. 50 Hours of trauma education is the best punishment .

Gosh if that doesn't get into his thick head, nothing will.

I think that will be punishment enough...I hope.

  4. I think it's fair.

I don't think it matters what penalty they hand out to this guy.

He will no doubt re-offend some way or the other in the near future.

  5. S**t and soft

should of got suspended for a few games, like the eagles did on  Ben cousins when we was at the club.

    SOFT

  6. Way too soft.  Next time he'll kill someone!!! He should go to jail.

  7. At least they handed out some sort of punishment associated with what he did. Maybe the road trauma education with the victims will be good for him

  8. weak as the only reason why he did not get suspended was because last year they only won after he started playing from previous c**p

  9. Yep, that's too soft.

I was p*ssed and amazed that the first thing he said after winning the Norm Smith was that he might have a bender to celebrate what he'd got by NOT drinking!!!

Ummm .... noone never said the dude was smart!

  10. Yeah sounds pretty fair. If that was all it would be weak but seeing as there are other punioshments its alright. Its good they are trying to educate him.
