  1. Pommy Ref, Pommy Ref, completely blind and slightly deaf,

Couldn't see a Forward Pass, Kick the B****** up the A**. We were nobbled by a pommy ref.

  2. I actually think that overall the refereeing has

been pretty good and the discipline and behaviour of the players very good. One thing that has always struck me about rugby you do not get players answering back and the officials word is final. Unlike football where they are brought to account and hounded by players.

  3. I only watched the Kiwi game and the Boks game... but oh my god it was truly appauling. I can't believe you would have refs that bad for the world cup. The northerners just can't ref! Oh no it was shocking, I'm not saying the Kiwis could have won with a good ref, but it certainly gives them a good excuse.

  4. I reckon England did. Maybe it's our turn next weekend - though I wouldn't hold your breath.

  5. Very poor, by any standards, with this Paddy O`Brien  " idiot " in charge of them, they are too busy looking at the wrong things ,and as a result, they are missing the real issues, forward passes, knock ons, off side play etc.

Basicly ,that is what his job is , not to be running between two players and grabbing them ,whenever they look the wrong way at each other .

  6. I agree.  With the laws the way they are at present refs have too much say in the outcome of games.  There is no way that the team that played the best in the NZ v France game won, and in sport the team that plays the best on the day should win.  I can't comment on the other games as I gave up watching rugby for a few days after the AB's game.

  7. The standard of refereeing was pretty poor.

From my experience of playing and watching sports it was at the usual standard that you would expect though. Refereeing is heavily criticised in all sports. Look at umpires in cricket and referees in tennis, they cop so much criticism and seem to never get it right.

Lets face it, refereeing is very hard and there are always going to be poor performances. I know they are professionals but they are also human.

I used to be a volleyball referee and I'll tell you what... it is not easy. So much is going on and all the players are screaming at you the whole time. No matter what decision you make you get criticised (by the team who didn't get the call). At the end of the game.... the team that loses always feels that they have been hard done by no matter what happened.

The trouble with sports is that they require interpretation from a human official.  It is already proven that a group of people can see the exact same event but report on it completely differently.

As annoyed as I am with some of the refereeing (and one ref in particular) I understand that sport is a fickle thing and referees can make mistakes. I know this because I always make mistakes, are you guys any different?

  8. the refs seemed nervous.  Sometimes they could not keep up with the speed of the game.

  9. In general very good.

Ok Frances passes where forward but it was played at such a fast pace the ref cannot be blamed.

NZ get away with so many technical infringements throughout all the other game its bound to come back and go against them at some stage.

  10. good job the ref`s are rubbish!! if they reffed it like it should be then the game would be even more dour!!

  11. the refs have been poor at times. england certainly had the benefit of the ref against the aussies. he just let their forwards run the game and kill any ball so the aussies had no quickball to run.

  12. I only saw the S.A./Fiji match and, to be honest, the umpiring seemed completely magnanimous and well considered. Maybe the others were feeling the pressure.

    Cheers.

  13. i didnt watch the scotland game. but i watched the rest. france scored off a forward pass but new zeland got away with one earlyer too. still the pass that was made for france was a game changing one so its not the best decision. south africa vs fiji was terrible in the way the ref was letting the fijians tackle so high it didnt have to be on the initial tackle somethimes the fijians would have a secong man come in grab the player by the neck and put them down. i saw it two times and high tackles to many times.england game was ok i think. well i dont think the refs have been to a very good standard i hope two see the refs improvng their game in the semis.

  14. You may be right but try to have a refs decision overturned.

Besides if all the finalists are victims of bad reffing its still a level playing field.

  15. um new zealand match.........................S*IT!!!

otherwise i thought the refs did a good job.
