What do you think of the sponsoring law in Saudi ( Kafeel)..?

it means a very limited way to get into saudi arabia. a very limited choice in deciding what you wanna do coz you always have to ask your sponsor's consent if you wanna do something. its like, deal with me or else i will make you deported. well insha'alah it will be abolished soon! read the arab news todays frontpage! got some developments about this topic...

it is one of the many laws in saudi arabia that needs changes and update here.

however, this law had so many criticism on the expat side. but also from the saudi side, it is a big burden.

the original concept of this law is not bad. that is if a foreign person entered to this country, someone should take the responsibility of all of his actions. however, with the years, it has been mis used.

now, if i have sponsored a maid, then i am responsible about her. if she committed a crime, i will be in deep $$it for a while.

it should be changed to a normal working contract with mutual rights between the employer and the employee.

I am from the UAE and we have the same kind of sponsoring system (like almost all Gulf countries). I think it's great and I do not want to see any changes.

I like other countries to mat out the same treatment to citizens of these countries. It is only fair.

Just me- I am surpised that you agree with Ameen. One of the first questions I answered for you was about "How to control your employee?" so that he does not join anyone else. Anyhow, the law was good as long as it was used properly but once it became a human trading and slavery tool, it became redundant.

The law should allow a bit more freedom and open up the employment market.
