The NYY and BOSOX are in a race for the wild card and the next 3 games can decide it and maybe with a sweep by either team can put them in first?? what do you think will happen?

  1. The Yankees will own them. Even with David Ortiz playing tomorrow The Yankees will still win.

  2. Good game which yankees will gain some ground on.

  3. If I had to pick an outcome, I'd say sox win games 1 and 3 because of pitching. Yankees take game 2.

Game 1 - Josh Beckett vs Joba Chamberlain - Beckett always steps up in big games (Yankee fans know this first hand) and I don't think Chamberlain will pitch bad, just won't go deep into the game.

Game 2 - Andy Pettite vs Tim Wakefield - Pettite seems to pitch well against Boston so I think the Yankees get to Wake in the 6th or 7th inning to pull away with a win.

Game 3 - Jon Lester vs Sidney Ponson - Lester has been lights out lately, even against the Yankees in the Bronx a few weeks back. I see the Sox jumping out early and taking the game and series.

  4. Dude, its way to early to make that statement. I am a die hard Red Sox fan, and I know better than to count the Stankees out yet! Remember last year when the Sox were cruising to the A.L. East title and then all of a sudden the Yanks were knocking on the door!!! If it were September 24th then maybe saying a sweep would knock out 1 team or the other, but there is still 60 games left this season!!!

Sox take games 1 and 3!!

  5. the new york yankees ill kick some boston butt.

  6. I think the red sox will take 2 out of the 3.  Yes the Yankees are hot right now, but pitching is going to decide it.

Also Posada and Matsui are out.  Defense struggles without them.

  7. In the last couple of weeks of the season, the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays each will play 3 games head to head. That will determine who will win, who will get the wild card, and who will go home.

    Rays @ Yankess, 9/12, 9/13, 9/14

    Red Sox @ Rays, 9/15, 9/16, 917

    Yankees @ Red Sox, 9/26, 9/27, 9/28

(Also Yanks @ Rays on 9/2-4 and Rays @ Sox on 9/8-10)

There's your season. BTW: Between those match-ups, the Rays have the toughest schedule and the least experience, while the Yankees will have Wang back, their #1 starter, along with Pettitte, Moose, Joba, and the best of either Rasner, Ponson, and Hughes (this time with glasses so he can actually see the plate).

  8. I don't like any of the teams but I think The Yankees will win 2/3. =]

  9. I honestly can't stand either one of those teams, but I'm going to say that the Yankees will win the first game.I don't think they can sweep though.

Although Big Papi is back,so who knows what kind of impact he will make on the Sox,or if he will even have one.

  10. I hope the Yanks sweep but I have a feeling the series will be split, with the Yankees winning two.

But UNFORTUNATELY I will only be able to see one game, and it's the only one that's not being broadcast in HD (Saturday's game is being broadcast on FOX and Sunday's game is being broadcast on ESPN) because I'm leaving for camp on Saturday  ...

  11. Pains me to say it, but Boston will take 2 of 3, primarily because this series is being played in Boston. If this series were being played in the Bronx, I'd give the Yankees at least two wins with the possibility of a sweep.

I don't see either team sweeping this weekend. But it would be nice for the Yanks to get one done now. I love the sound of "Boston Massacre, Part III."

  12. Sox win 2 of three the real series is against Tampa next week thats when we can make it a Tampa NY wild card hunt.
