Question:

What do you think of the very first bill that Palin vetoed when she took office?

Palin's first veto as Governor was a bill that sought to block state employee benefits and health insurance for same-s*x couples.

We cannot bore into Palin's soul to see her true feelings about g*y couples, but, at the time, she noted that signing "this bill would be in direct violation of my oath of office" because it was unconstitutional.

This coming from what the liberals are referring to as a religious nutcase who speaks in tongues.

Here is an excellent article about her, particularly if you tend to be of Libertarian persuasion, like I am.

Isn’t this a strong indicator that she is fair and willing to go against her own religious beliefs?

  1. What's that?

Hold up on the tar and feathers, you say?

  2. homophobia appears to be just another of the conservative republican's "family values".

  3. Do we know for sure that homosexuality goes against her religious beliefs? Regardless, she is against abortion and we do know that it goes against her religious beliefs so one doesn't justify the other.

  4. We're not supposed to be talking about indications as to whether she is fair and willing to go against her liberal beliefs.  We're supposed to be talking about her seventeen year old daughter, right comrades?

  5. The first answer is the best.

  6. I think she is the "change" everyone needs...

  7. excellent source, Palin is an excellent choice for VP as well, she demonstrates courage tthat'ssomething the social drop outs attacking her and her daughter lack

  8. It just shows she knew the futility of signing a law that would only be struck down by the courts because it was unconstitutional.

All it shows that that she's at least somewhat grounded in common sense.

  9. You're right.

She was speaking of the Alaska constitution by the way.

  10. I like this lady more and more. I may wind up voting for the republican ticket after all. I thought Bob Barr had a real chance but I think Palin has shot that down in flames.

  11. I'm an expert on this, I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips there.http://health-insurance.tips4free.info/h...

  12. A good start.  Too bad she doesn't realize that taxation without representation of any group is unconstitutional.  g**s pay the same taxes (in some cases more).  They should be entitled to the same government services and protections.  Religion should not be a consideration.

Still it's more backbone that some democratic law makers have shown on this issue.

  13. I wish she were running for President.

  14. Politicians are great at vetoing bills when it makes them look good.

Kudos to Palin for taking a stand to uphold freedom of religion, but her own problems with her daughter after advocating abstinence-only s*x ed shows she still has issues. How can she run the White House when she cant run her own House?

Biden will still be a better VP. At least HE favors a woman's right to choose in cases of rape or incest.

  15. Interesting article... but if McCain gets elected and she succeeds him I'd still bet my money she'd be socially conservative. Focusing on social conservativism has been a winning formula for Republicans. Republicans that try to change that would lose a lot of support I'd suspect.

  16. Yes, it is. Thus far, all I'm seeing from those Peace and Love liberals is hate and vitriol. I have yet to see something beside a personal attack, other than making the claim that someone with more legislative experience than their candidate for President is unworthy to be Vice President.

  17. Yeah I heard about that...I like it that she considers each issue carefully and votes her conscience...she is a wonderful pick for VP...

  18. Shhhh.  You know you aren't supposed to bring up a fact that disputes the liberal rhetoric dribbling from the foaming zealots lips like poo from an elephant.

FWIW I think it's an incredible indicator of what an AMERICAN can do when they allow their own ethos to govern instead of a party line.

  19. I agree.... Barr just makes me sick to my stomach, though... I hated McCain until he picked Sarah Palin.  No doubt I would vote for this woman because she is exactly what I think a politician should be... Smart, Honest, and not an insider...

  20. Sarah Palin loves pork, or at least loved it as mayor of Wasilla. There's a link below that talks about her hiring of lawyers to lobby Washington for nearly $30 million in federal money for a variety of projects in Wasilla, including $15 million for a rail project linking Wasilla to another town where she actually lived while mayor of Wasilla.

She also has the problem of the firing of the safety commissioner for refusing to fire her sister's ex-husband. And let's not forget that she supported the bridge-to-nowhere until the national outcry caused her to flip-flop.

Sarah uses the govt. and Treasury for personal gain. If she was a man I'd be blasting her. Being an attractive woman does change that.

  21. She cuts the pork and even her own salary.  The kind of person this country needs.  She has spunk and courage.  What a refreshing change from the status quo!
