Thousands of people were killed or injured in the attacks on 9/11. We got pi**ed off at the terrorists for killing so many people so how did we respond......we sent thousands of our troops overseas to die as well. the attacks on 9/11 killed way too many people and we are doing the same thing...all in the name of war. Sometimes our government is so ignorant. The war on terror costs us billions of dollars a year and for what? Its a war that will never end. We need to bring our troops home so they can be safe and with their families. Heres an idea.....instead of heading off to other countris to wage war why dont we keep our troops at home to protect our land.....ON OUR LAND!      Gods bless the troops.....I sincerely hope that our a**hole politicians will wake up and get these guy home soon!

Let me be the first to say anything POSITIVE about the situation: We are helping a people restore their beautiful, history rich country.  Yes it has been rough, no it was not a mistake.  Saddam wanted nukes.  He used chemical weapons against his own people.  He invaded other countries in the region.  He wanted to push Israel into the sea. YOU DO NOT LEAVE A MAN WITH THAT TRACK RECORD IN POWER.  You just don't, and we didn't.  Now we have 2 things to do, that require nothing more than time and a little support: build an army capable of keeping domestic stability, and insuring the government is powerful and sovereign.  We did not go there for oil.  If we had, we wouldn't be paying 4 bucks a gallon.  Good question by the way.  Controversial answers....the best ones of all!

It was handled terribly and Bush and Rumsfeld wasted the first 3 or 4 years by doing nothing right.  A cub scout could have done a better job of running it.

This is not a war. It is an illegal invasion and an occupation. The US gets away with this c**p because it spends more on military than all other countries combined.

The motivation is enrichment of the military - industrial complex. It enriches executives and investors of the oil companies. d**k Cheney understands the Hubbert's Peak theory which is more commonly known as "peak oil."

Peak Oil is the reason that the US is in the Middle East and the reason the US military will stay there.
