What do you think of the wedding date dec 12 2008?

I am currently pregnant and i want enough time to loose my baby fat before i walk down the isle and i am having a big church wedding and wearing white down the isle at my church. We are spending alot on our wedding but do you think the date is good.

Getting married in December is fine. Getting married on a Friday is fine. But will you really be able to lose the baby weight by then? For some people, it can take a while to take off the weight.

WHen are you due? The date is fine it sure will be pretty with the snow and what not. But it depends when your due because I had my son a year ago in May and I finally lost most of the weight. It takes awhile to loose and get back to the shape you want. But I wish you the best of luck  in what decison you make.

I like Winter Weddings It depends on were you live. I like Friday weddings because you can have more time to yourself on Saturday and Sunday, also I heard it is cheaper. I wouldnt wear white probaly Ivory or a deep cream color!

well, it would be better if it weren't in Dec. Frankly I'd be pissed if I had to go to a wedding when I also have a million Christmass parties, and Christmass itself to prepare for and winter holiday days off to plan out and guests who are staying ... so, maybe make it February. Nothing ever happens then, and people are anxious to go out and do ANYTHING.

Of course, if you can't wait and must marry fast, then you might as well do it now.

Who cares if you're fat. Just stuff yourself into a girdle. Stop eating all sugar a month before you go into labor. (you'll have to ease off of it the month before, then by the time the baby arrives, you will already be in a mode of healthy dieting and the fat will melt off. Also, breast feed.)  Sugar keeps baby fat on your belly and hips, so STOP the sugar. and walk.

Ok lets deal with the idea that a white dress means virgin. NOPE. Blue used to be the color of wedding dresses. It wasnt until Queen Victoria had a white dress it became fashionable.

About Friday in December, I favor it. Mine was on a Friday in December but it was the weekend before Christmas.

I think that date is fine. It sounds good and very even-12/12/2008.

The only thing I would be worried about is if people had Christmas parties or other functions to attend at that time of year. Although, your close family and friends should put your wedding before those.

The other concern would be that it is a Friday, which can be difficult for people who work or out of town guests.

I would therefore send out the invitations earlier than usual- so people don't book the date for something else and those guests that have to ask for time off work are given plenty of notice to ask for time off.

I would also book your reception venue ASAP as they often book up very quickly in December for other functions.

Winter wedding are gorgeous!!! My aunt and uncle's was amazing... Their pictures were in the snow and it was just wow.

Weddings are more or less better on Saturday.. Since well people won't have to take off of work as much and gives people time to drive since your having a big wedding and some people might not be able to get there in time.

For you I would say go the next day would be better just for that reason.

Also you can use Dark red/blue for another color... depends on what you like.

ADD:I don't care if they say white dresses are for purity.. I know a lot of major Christian's who got pregnate before their wedding... My grandpa's brother did... with his wife.

Just have the wedding the way you want it.. dont worry about what they say.. you need to feel good about yourself on that day.. I just would say day later since big wedding and guest.

[wedding date  dec 12/ 2008]  TO WHOM OT MAY CONCERN. When is your baby due?Also are you going to the gym afterwards or just home exercise? As far as the wedding goes. Celebrate!! THATS YOUR SPECIAL DAY WITH YOUR HUBBY!!Wear a nice ivory dress or cream colour dress with lace & pearls sewn on.Or wear it mid length if you still have a few extra pounds to go.AS FAR AS THE BABY GOES.Thats what baby showers are for!! good-luck. also have many happy years together!!  JEWELS

I think it's fine. I'm getting married just after Christmas on Monday or Tuesday.  I always wanted a winter wedding, but you are going a step further and having it on a Full Moon!

Just a tip.  Don't spend more than you have saved for it.  Starting marriage with a new baby is hard enough without a lot of debt.

Hey folks, stop harping about the stupid symbolism of wearing a white dress. She hasn't been married before. She has every right to wear white.  Get off your pedestals.

I had a winter wedding in December and it was amazing! (Dec 16th).

I don't know about having it on a Friday though. Do you have friends/family that would have to travel somewhat far and take the day off work to be there? They might not want to or might not be able to do that!

When are you due? You want to give yourself a few months to get into shape.  These celebrities that do it in a month are so unreallistic! They can afford personal trainers,expensive diets, and lipo.  I think taking the baby for neighborhood walks in a stroller(with a shade) is a great idea to get in shape plus breastfeed burns about 600 calories a day! Or a treadmill is great investment so you can work out in the comfort of your own home.

A winter wedding would be beautiful! Just do some research on the types of flowers available in your area around that time of year.  Also you could do a beautiful reception with a winter wonderland theme with snowflake centerpieces or blue,silver, and white candles. You could give out snowflakes with you & your husband's name & wedding date on them! I always wanted a fall wedding so I could use pumpkins with our names & wedding date carved in them and some with fall flowers inside.

P.S.- A Friday wedding will generally be less expensive than a Saturday wedding.

P.P.S.- White does NOT indicate a virgin bride.  I'm amazed at the amount of people who still think this.  The tradition of wearing white comes from Queen Victoria who wanted to be different on her wedding day.  If you want to equate a color with "purity", the color blue is what represents it.

If alot of your guests aren't in the immediate area, its a bit annoying to them to have to take vacation time off from work to attend someone's wedding.

Depending upon where you live, what are the chances there will be snow?  In my area, its possible, and weather concerns add to the difficulty in getting to events.

Friday is the end of the work week so some folks are tired and don't want to be out late.

Also - anything between Thanksgiving and New Years is a pain in the rear to attend.  People's wallets are already feeling empty due to the normal Christmas gift season and adding a wedding just feels more draining.

Your friends & family will be happy for you and will do what they have to in order to attend your wedding.  If that is the date you want, then go for it.  Personally, I feel that if you really want a winter wedding, then just wait until January and avoid the holiday-cramming time.
