  1. epic. tho i've seen finals more amazing than that. but it was great still and rafa's power game was superb, congrats to him. its still fed for me tho, his tennis is perfection. some of those shots were just jaw dropping awsm..he's the best there is.

  2. Is not greatest match. Greatest match is only when both are playing they make their best. Roger, he create not his best game and make too many errors.  I support Roger who is always a wonderful player who has so many amazing shots. He set up points better than Rafa, and when Rafa not have his physics then he will not win.

  3. The biggest "surprise" to me was that Wimbledon changed the grass - about time I noticed. I would tend to favor him on clay now (he's still on the rise) but still would bet on Federer on faster surfaces (even though I think he's no doubt past his peak). This is the natural progression of things. You can't beat everybody all the time forever, you know? I favor Federer on a personal level but that's also the way things tend to go - the seasoned vet is more likable (to me), in general, than the young "upstart". The seasoned vet tends to be more relaxed, friendly, confident, and tired of it all.The "upstart" has to overcome their underdog status and is usually somewhat brash, impolite, less confident, and tries harder.

Edit: Well, there you go, I now see that Wimbledon changed the grass a while back (2001), from 70% rye and 30% fescue to 100% rye, for durability and surface regularity reasons and consequently the ball takes a higher bounce and the rye, unlike fescue, slows the ball down. I "lopped off"/changed the top of my A because of this. Sorry.

  4. that was a very good match but nadal did deserve the win, federer could not break nadal and nadal had championship point FOUR times so yea. Also the on ly thing that kept the match to 5 sets is federes serve. All in all nadal did deserve the win and he has gotten better (serve especially), but at least federer respects that and acknowledges nadals improvments and his mistakes

  5. it was great match , one of the best matches in the history of tennis

we will talk about it for years

match worthy of being final for that great occasion

  6. Roger Federer!

I had to stay up 'til 6:30 am (Australian time) watching it live, and that match was just amazing.

    Best match I've ever seen.

It was #1 Vs. #2, a 5 set game, went for almost 5 hours and the score remained tight for the whole match.

    Could tennis get any better?!

When Nadal won 2 sets to love, I had so much doubt in Federer. Then he came back, it was like the Murray-Gasquet match, though unfortunately Federer lost.

It's heartbreaking seeing him so sad, but hopefully he'll win next year and win back his title as Champion!

Even though he's still a Champion now. =)

  7. A lot are saying its the best Wimby match they've ever seen, but I don't think it was "the BEST".  The 2001 Federer vs Sampras match was amazing, as was the first Federer vs Roddick match final.

I wish they didn't change the surface at Wimby to make it equal to last year's challenge. A slower surface favored Nadal. That does not mean Nadal didn't play excellent tennis, obviously he played a tiny bit better than Roger, and that is all that was needed to win.  But, lets' not pretend the slower surface didn't help him-all the commentators mentioned that well before Wimby even began.

I did support Roger, and was bummed he didn't win. But I like Nadal too, and he's a nice guy with a cute personality and hit some amazing angles.  Roger will win again next year.
