Now don't tear me to shreds here, just looked at these answers re Cousins to either side, the majority of Pie fans are all for it, where as the Bulldog fans are not, The Bullie fans seem to be thinking of the good of their club and the Magpie fans seem to just want the Glory he MAY provide.

Would you want Cousins at your club, please take a moment to check the answers out on the link, interesting the thoughts of the two clubs.

  1. I'm a Collingwood fan, and while I think Cousins was agreat player, I don't know if I want him at Collingwood. Our midfield is the strength of our team, so I don't think we necessarily need Cousins. Also, by the time he plays for us, he'll be older, and he'll be taking up our salary cap, when we could be developing new talent.

  2. G'day Romper

From those answers, its sounds like the Dogs fans are saying that they have enough talent, and don't need him. Fair call. But i think he still has a lot to offer as a player, he was one of the best, and he would certainly be picked up. Look at Aker, I didnt think anyone would touch him cos of his big mouth & bad attitude.....now he is a star again at the Doggies.

I dont know....would you have Cousins at the Tigers?

  3. i would LOVE cousins at collingwood, even if he cant get back close 2 his best he would stil take some attention away from dane sawn which would b nice

  4. I'd have him in our VFL side.  Seriously - it would be a good place for him. He would REALLY have to prove himself to get a run in the Cats seniors.  Who does he knock out?  Bartel?  Ling? Ablett? Mackie?

That would bring him back to earth perhaps and get him re-focused on a goal rather than just being handed the captaincy at an also ran club, like , say, Carlton!! :-) .

I reckon in the long run he'd be a great asset but a year or so's humility in the reserves would do him good.

  5. I did read some of the answers but not all since I just cbf'd trying to translate it into English - why do people insist on answering with text talk?  ok, im digressing.....

As a Pies supporter, I believe we have plenty of talent on the field and in reserve - Cousins would disrupt the team with all the publicity and controversy.

Good on the Bulldog supporters for thinking with their heads and realizing that its in the best interest of the team & club to NOT have Cousins.

If there is one play that can be labelled over-rated its good ol' Bennie - yes he was a champion, but I think he has peaked and his best footy is far behind him now.

He is better off playing for Port Melbourne and staying off the drugs and out of trouble.

  6. If his body language is anything to go by he has a long way to go before he is ready to play for any club I just hope it is not Collingwood

  7. I don't know why Bulldogs are favourites :S Is it because of our success with recruits of Aker, Welsh and Hudson :S

We don't really need him, as we have more than enough midfeilders (Cooney, Cross, Boyd, West, Ray, Aker, Giansiracusa, Griffen, Eagleton, Hill, Ward, Higgins)

There's a lot for the future in there and if West retires I wouldn't mind Cousins to help the younger guys.

  8. Interesting isnt it..

I wonder if its similar thoughts throughout both club members and committees?

I would be disappointed if roos took him on board, I think he left his previous club 'high' and dry and any club letting him wear their colours should have very specific and tight disciplined contract for him to sign.. NOT Swans!

  9. I'm an Eagles fan, so he was at my club :)

He is an excellent player and I would appreciate him coming back to West Coast if he ever wanted to or was allowed to, which I doubt either of those would happen. Just as long as he has sorted himself out, for the sake of the club and his mentality.

It will be good to watch him play again, at any rate.
