The first: I would give up Jose' Reyes and Russell Martin for Josh Hamilton and Giovany Soto.

The second: I would give up Cliff Lee for Grady Sizemore.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

  1. I would do the first trade. Reyes still needs more work in terms of plate discipline. Can sometimes instigate the opposition with overly-exuberant displays while on the base-paths. Martin has a few glaring holes in his game, but he could stand to work on developing more power and more consistency against right-handed pitching. Hamilton has an incredibly sweet swing from the left side. Adds good speed, superb defensive ability with range and a strong arm. Is overcoming adversity. Soto is an outstanding rookie, and a great defensive catcher, watch out for this guy because he will be the next Posada.

Don't do the second trade because Lee is a great pitcher. Lee has a nice, four-pitch arsenal featuring low-90s heat, nasty slider, curve and change. Has a fluid, sometimes sneaky delivery. Sizemore's plate discipline has something to be desired. Has had some trouble hitting southpaws. Frankly, I think Lee is better than Sizemore because Lee could be a potential Cy Young Winner, and started the All Star Game at Yankee Stadium. I am not saying Sizemore is bad player, because Sizemore is, he is a leader on a struggling Indians team. Don't do the second trade.

  2. Sizemore plays every day, grab him.

  3. note sure why everyone is hating on that second trade, that one is good for you too, Lee does not have the history of putting up these kind of numbers for an entire season...if he ends up with an era of 2.75 that means his era will be over 3 for the second half of the year...not to mention the indians suck and you can never assume wins, his bullpen might blow a lead or the offense might not score for him....Sizemore is becoming one of the best players in teh AL...he already has 23 homeruns, and will probably end up close to a 40hr/40 steal season.  I would roll the dice with Sizemore over Lee (unless the rest of your pitching staff sucks)

  4. The firs is a great trade for u. the second sucks for u

  5. the first trade is spectacular and the second one isnt so good do the first one but not the second its a great pickup

  6. The 1st trade is the better trade. Soto is better than Martin. I have Soto in one of my leagues and I am in 1st too. Hamilton is way better the Reyes. Everybody pretty much forgot about him every since Hanley Ramirez has been a beast this year. I would accept the first trade.

The second trade I would reject. Cliff Lee is the only good pitcher left of Cleveland. He has a ERA below 2! That is good for a pitcher. Sizemore is a good 5x5 player but I would keep Cliff Lee because he is 12-2, has a low ERA and doesn't have that many walks this year with like 20 or something.

  7. The first trade is good for you. Soto is a better hitter than Russell Martin, and Josh Hamilton is just unstoppable! He stats have been amazing, and he may even win the triple crown! As for the second, don't do it! Sizemore is a good player, but pitchers are really valuble and Cliff Lee was the All Star Game starter for a reason. Not many pitchers have an ERA or WHIP like Cliff Lee does.
