What do you think of these limericks?

They're hardly poems to relate to, but what do you think of their rhythm, rhyme, and structure?

Which ones are funniest? Which ones are rubbish [I reckon the first one!]?

Are they beautiful pieces of romantic poetry? ("Yes" gets best answer. Ha!)

I know they're pretty monotonous, but enjoy if you can!

  1. There once was a maid whose jocosity

    Cheered her to such a velocity,

    They now say it's criminal

    To laugh superliminal,

    For your wit will be lost to philosophy.


  2. There once was a fetching young maid

    Who rode off with the Second Crusade;

    She dated a Saracen --

    Just for comparison --

    And liked what she found so she stayed.
