I think Lani is a cute nickname too.

Ricky fits Merrick. For Mario maybe, Rio or Mars?

I really dislike all of those names. I have a unique name and only a few people in my entire life have pronounced it correctly. I don't think it would be beneficial to your son or daughter to give them a name like any of these.

i am not a fan of any of your names with the exception of merrick- in which ithink it looks best on its own, with no nickname.  just an opinion- which is what you asked for. sorry i couldnt be more positive.

I like Leilani, Lei sounds good for a nickname.

I don't really like Rick or Ricky, Merrick is nice by itself.

I like Serena and Ariella too...my friend's name is Arielle.
