He's learning to say certain phrases pretty well.  He can say "What ya doing" and is able to add "buddy" as well when he hears it.  He couldn't say "Hey buddy" though.  It's best if a parrot learn to speak from one person, so that it doesn't get confused by the different vocal patterns and intonations.  Parrots should also be rewarded for talking, given lots of attention, and should only learn one phrase at a time.
