I know it is not specifically about homeschooling, but rather about public schools, but I am just wondering about people's opinions on it.

  1. I agree completely with Jealous Elf. No sense in restating her answer. It's just a few above mine and it says it all.

    I'd also like to add...

You people need to learn that just because YOU believe something is bad, and just because your Bible says it is, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world thinks so. Have your beliefs but for christ's sake don't go forcing them on other people!

  2. Oh my god. That's why homosexualism is spreading everywhere. Well, my opinion is: The law sucks.

  3. YOU mean like accommodate, grant and oblige.

  4. i read the article. i also scanned the texts of the bills referenced.

my opinion of the article is this: it's based on exaggerated assertions and unsupported conclusions.  the new laws mostly just affirm the need to eliminate discrimination and harassment in public schools and now include sexual orientation as a protected class. no matter how you feel about homosexuality, i think we can all agree that no kid should be the target of bullying just because his or her classmates thinks he or she is g*y.

to my knowledge, the bills do not mandate same-s*x restrooms or ban the use of the words "husband" and "wife."

[edit: worldnetdaily is not exactly renowned for accuracy or non-bias in reporting.]

  5. You re all getting a little emotional with all this indoctrination of children! what indoctrination? i think time will tell as history always does teach us valuable lessons, like the usual standard media beat ups and scandal sheets over the decades and the centuries, that is where you find the real Propaganda! I think Arnie is a realist and forward thinking and is sure no dummy! and he is stealing the middle ground from the Democrats who are scared of the polling to support the g**s openly,  i think Arnie is quite reasonable in signing it.

  6. I don't like the bills but I don't think it's quite as drastic as the article states.   However, I don't think I'd be moving there anytime soon.

To i.come.from... - does your little tirade mean that you are allowed your opinion but anyone who doesn't believe the same as you isn't allowed theirs?  That having an opinion differing from yours means that it's being "shoved" down your throat?   If you don't like someones opinion, ignore it.

  7. 1. There is such a thing as being overly politically correct.

    2. There also appears to a bit of a reverse discrimination element.

    3.  Government always over steps their boundaries.  If this is a legitimate piece of legislation then it will undoubtedly be ironed out in the court system with the end result being that an unspecified amount of tax dollars were wasted in the process and the average citizen picks up the tab for another minority group.

    4. I want the last 15 miuntes of my life back---what a waste of time!

  8. Wow.  I think it's a good thing I no longer live there, and it's a good thing my child will never have to be educated under such garbage.  Schwarzenegger did some good things for CA when he was first elected...he has clearly lost his nerve in standing up to Congress.  What a complete and total waste.

And Yowsie...this has nothing to do with tolerance of g**s.  It has to do with complete and total intolerance, now apparently enforced by laws, of anything that goes against the GLT agenda.  You're allowed to believe what you want to believe...but no one is allowed to force that belief on a child who's not old enough to be able to decide for themselves.  It's indoctrination, pure and simple, and it has no place in our schools.  (Though apparently, that's the main point of some schools today.  Just plain sad.)

  9. As far as removing the terms "Mom & Dad" - I am all for that. Go with Parent(s)/Guardian(s). In todays day & age many are single families or extended families raising children. Yes there are couples of the same s*x - but they are just one group outside of the stereotypical mother & father. In my family alone we have a single dad, and we have a grandma raising her grandkids. It happens. Society wants drama - so it has to be twisted and warped until they can call the Gov. pro- or anti-.

As far as the showering situation goes... I know when I was in school there weren't enough showers for students of the same gender to all shower at the same time. We only had 5 minutes too. No one showered. I don't know how that equates to now - but I do think things like showering/restrooms/locker rooms should be on a case by case basis. If a student is transgender/transsexual then they should be able to provide a note to the school and have a meeting with the counselor to determine what is best for the school as  a whole. Whether it be to prevent hate crimes or to determine if special arrangements should be made.

We had a guy in junior high in the late 80s who disappeared from school for a while. He came back as a she. Yes, there was a lot of people who treated them horribly. I honestly don't know how PE was handled but the student was allowed to leave classes two minutes earlier than the bell to get to the next class before dismissal to prevent hate crimes.

Of course public schools aren't going to listen to what homeschoolers have to say. If they did we'd be more prone to use their instituitions.

  10. Speaking as a foreigner your domestic politics is none of my business, but Schwarzenegger is only signing what a lot of state and federal governments around the world have already done, and there was no increase in extraordinary devious activity in fact with greater accountability and responsibility now possible in more open society these problems can be taken head on instead of sweeping it under the carpet or pretending that g*y people have something medically wrong with them like they did during  in England during Queen Victoria's reign, the newspapers were full of hysterical anti-g*y rhetoric then and they had the usual witch hunt remember poor old Oscar Wilde how would he do in California as a writer today?

  11. I am no longer surprised at many such policies, and they wonder why so many families home school, or start private schools.

Parents have to decide to wake up, and start taking their children out of such schools; parents do have a choice; they just have to exercise it.

This web site may be of interest to families as well.

  12. Wow, I can not believe what I just read!  This cant be true!?

  13. i am appalled and disgusted and it makes me glad, if this article is true, that we moved away from California when we did. The sad thing is that much of the US follows suit a few years after CA inacts something. we are surely living in the last days when they will call evil good and good evil. reading this article left me feeling nauseated and wondering about the validity of these claims. i want to homeschool my children because there are times i feel like i am literally sending them into a den of lions or straight into babylon. everyone please pray that God will open the doors for me to do this.

  14. That is Dumb! I mean it is Public school!!!! you do not do that!

  15. Wow!

What next? Do we cater to those that believe the earth is flat?

I'm not against g**s but it seems they are against me. Can't even use the terms "Mother" or "Father".

    Wow!

  16. personally, that is what they get for voting an actor into office.

If I lived there, I would be moving.

  17. I emailed this article to everyone I know who home schools and for me its just another reason to home school. After all I want my kids to learn real morals and not have the public school forced to indoctrinate my babies to accept what is clearly a sin in the Holy Bible! Praise God home school is legal.
