Ok, wouldn't post three times yesterday and today the links wouldn't work. This is the LAST TIME!

Haha, sticking with funk for today, this band's more funk rock than the last - they're fcuking crazy! Anyway, they're Funkadelic, and they are great. :)

Super Stupid [best Funkadelic song evaaa!]

If you know them already, what are your favourite songs/album? [I bet it's Maggot Brain]

Please comment on each & as a whole.

Again, thanks for answering. :)

  1. I have most of the P-Funk Albums.

Chocolate City & One Nation Under Groove, are Essential !!

It's been a while since I heard "Maggot Brain" LOL - I forgot how amazing it is.

George Clinton & Frank Zappa are Probably the 2 most Avante-Garde writers of the 70's -- That actually have Listenable Music !!

Thanks for the Links - They were Fun !!

    .

  2. i love early funkadelic. maggot brain and cosmic slop are my two favorite albums.

fav songs- i got a thing, you got a thing, everybodys go a thing, maggot brain, can you get to that, hit it and quit it, you and your folks, me and my folks, nappy dugout, you cant miss what you cant measure, cosmic slop, and oh I

  3. My favorite Funkadelic album is Electric Spanking of War Babies and my favorite Parliament album is The Clones of Doctor Funkenstein.

I've seen P-Funk in concert 12 times and counting! I met George backstage after they played the 2002 Olympics Mountain Dew Extreme after party where my husbands sound company provided the system.

I also recommend everyone check out The Brides of Funkenstein.

Lynn Mabry and Dawn Silva used to sing with Sly and The Family Stone.

George Clinton produced their albums (of course) and Bernie Worrell & Maceo played with them.

I have a live cd of theirs, it's amazing!

this one is from the live album I have:

*one more thing I wanted to add- if you haven't seen any George Clinton outfit live yet- go, DO IT! If you can keep up, he plays for 4 hours or more (if permitting) and you are forced to dance the entire time. It's an experience that will keep you young, I swear by it!

Here are George's current tour dates:

    27 Aug 2008

    Bataclan- Paris

  4. Super Stupid: I like the bongo (is it a bongo?) effect. It makes the song jungley haha. Some great guitar work here, too. That album cover - it just fits :)

Flashlight: Not one of my faves, but it's still good. I love the bass.

Maggot Brain: Love how it's so melodic. This is a great example on how a guitar can cry. It's filled with emotion and you can't deny it's beauty.

  5. Funkadelic is good stuff. There was this local band, kind of a funk rock/soul outfit that used to do a great version of Hit It And Quit It.

  6. I love Funkadelic, Eddie Hazel was one of the greatest guitar players ever in my opinion. Maggot Brain is an epic song/album and you're right it's my favorite haha.

  7. Yay! They work this time! By the way, I found "Maggot Brain" on my quest through youtube! Its really cool stuff!

I love "Super Stupid"!! It makes me happy! haha...

"Flashlight (Parliament)" is really awesome too!

Neat music you've found here!! Gave me something to cut threw my boring afternoon! :)

  8. Funkadelic!

Unfortunately, my internet connection won't allow me to open YouTube. Maggot Brain is one of the most moving guitar solos I have ever heard. Eddie Hazel is truly talented.

When I heard it for the first time, I couldn't stop playing it for about two weeks. I'm going to buy the Maggot Brain album real soon.

    Favorite songs;

    Maggot Brain

    One Nation Under A Groove

    Into You

    I Got A Thing, You Got A Thing, Everybody's Got A Thing
