i think its crazy in a way but the other way maybe they should only make it so that everyone has thier own single dorm rooms because i would be creeped out to have a roomate of either s*x because i just dont want tension or any temptation from either roomates male or female

doesnt anyone agree?

  1. Yeah, perhaps room for debate here.

Morality and good judgement plays a big roll in administration decisions here.I know we are getting more liberal in the USA but This is one I would have to see other results.

Most students (not all) have to hold down jobs as well to survive.Off campus roommates are also an option.

    happy trails

  2. Its not as big a deal anymore to live with someone of the opposite s*x.

That's not entirely a good thing; it does show where our society has gone, and its not good.

But, its not a big deal to live with someone of the opposite s*x anymore.  And many people do it without ever getting into a "sticky situation."

I don't personally have a problem with the colleges ALLOWING it.  Just so long as they don't force it on anyone.  And by that I mean that right now most dorms require that people live together for space reasons; they must have at least one roommate.  As long as they don't assign men and women together, as long as its only a request situation, I think its okay to allow it.

But in truth, it may be asking for a lawsuit from someone.  One girl winds up pregnant; or a couple living together break up and then don't want to live together anymore, but the college can't or won't find any other room for one or both of them, or something like that.  It could end with someone trying to sue the school for the right to leave or make them pay for the kid or something.  The colleges should consider these things before allowing coed dorm rooms.

  3. Cost is the reason college dorms have roommates,  As long as the students get to choose their roommate, they are old enough to decide who it should be.  I suspect they have parental permission since for most, mom and dad are fronting at least part of the cost.  It is far better than many places who assign you a same s*x roommate that you may be entirely incompatible with.

  4. passion for the other/same s*x will always manifest itself,no matter where it happens. That policy just acknowledges reality. Can't fight fate

  5. Okay,Okay I agree with you.
