  1. hi your thouroughbred is a little over at the knees and a lil under weight my personally i think for a typical stayer he is fine i dont think he would make a top dressage horse but for every thing else h**l be fine leah

  2. She's been through the wringer!  Capped hocks, funky topline through the loin/hip, beatup knee, osselet ankles all around, old scars...

A lot of wear and tear on what might once have been a classy chassis,

    How old is she?

5?  Wow.  Looks much older.  No, she doesn't look sound.  Capped hocks and osselets may be leftover scar tissue, mostly cosmetic, but the topline will always be weak and the knee looks bad.   She stand s like something hurts.

Gentle trail riding...  maybe.  Ask a vet.

  3. Thats a really beautiful horse. What breed is it?

  4. Bad neck, bad back and bad hind end. Whats with all the scratches and chunks of hair taken out of her coat?Or is that just mud?

Look I hate saying bad stuff but depending on what you would want her for.....

I think she is pretty flawed and you could do better. However perhaps its all the lack of meat on her bones. Try food, maybe it will improve her weak areas.

Sweet face. Sorry I couldn't be more positive! :(

Maybe if we had better pics? Movement shots? What you want her for?

  5. It looks like he has high withers and is a little under weight

  6. he is cute. Pretty good conformation. he does look a little underweight because I can see his reibs and you shouldn't be able to see his ribs but you should be able to feel them!

  7. shes very cute.

her withers are somewhat high, but over all nice conformation!!

    is she a tb?

  8. I think he is a beautiful horse! His back legs look a little funny at the hips. he could put on a little weight. but other than that I tihnk he looks really good! i think you should buy him if thats what you were planning on doing.

  9. nice!! It looks pretty good, yea neck is thin but it will build with work. He is pretty even looks good!! =]

  10. underweight, cuts and scrapes all over, high withers, thin neck, chunks of hair missing, and slightly leaning. He does not have good conformation!

  11. pretty but i dont care for the scars.

  12. Nice over all, but his neck could use some fattening up (i.e. muscle). He aslo looks a bit underweight. Also, it looks like he leans over his front legs. That can cause the horse to become off balance and fall forward.

  13. Straight shoulder, roach back (though this might just look worse because the horse is THIN), small hip, looks like sickle hocks, tad over at the knee (banged up knees too), Thin neck placed too low, pigeon chested, long back, high withers (though if this is a TB then that's "normal," and it looks like something is wrong with her nose, not sure what.  Looks like it's swollen or something (might just be that way, not sure).

  14. is she a TB?

she is a little on the thin side and looks a little straight legged in the front

but other then that, she is a pretty horse, looks like she has nice big bones

  15. Am I right in guessing this horse is a Thoroughbred?  How old is the horse?  These things should be taken into consideration when assessing conformation.  Sometimes, a young horse may appear to have awkward conformation, but they'll grow into themselves and have a very nice build by the time they're fully mature.  Some horses may seem too thin or too heavy until you consider the breed.  For example, Akhal-Tekes are notorious for looking underfed and ewe necked to people who are not familiar with the breed.

If I am right in guessing that this is a Thoroughbred, I'd say he seems very thin.  He could use more muscle in his upper neck muscles so that his crest and withers connect harmoniously.  I also agree with the user who said he appears to be standing over in the front legs..  I'd say he's not ideal, but not bad.
