Question:

What do you think of this letter I wrote to a Catholic boy who is getting ready for Confirmation?

Dear Adam,

According to Wikipedia, Confirmation renders the bond with the Catholic Church more perfect. I think personal perfection is a wonderful thing to pursue, although, since we are all different, none of us, if we are in our right minds, using our left hearts, can think of another as being "perfect". Nor should we.

But, one has to wonder for themselves in this uncertainty stimulized environment, for this moment, what do I expect and what is expected from me? What is worth memorizing and sticking to as goals of life, and what not? What is left to be wondered about, possibly for the rest of your life....from time to time, never knowing absolutely that you are right about any temporary conclusions you are about to act on in a given moment?

It is probably appropriate that this letter submission deadline is 9/11, an aniversary of the WTC plane terror. I would suggest to you that you should never let organized religion destroy YOUR twin towers of faith(belief and doubt) in the wonder about what is not absolute. You should attempt to live a life where you obey laws but religious beliefs that are not absolute, and that just about includes all beliefs,..those that cannot be proven, like eternal damnation or purgatory or what have you..... Don't let these programmed beliefs make you a non emotional robot unless you are desparate and are too weak to take the physical suffering that might accompany your professed differences with that programming! If you need the financial support from these organized religion(s), be a good actor when you have too, but at least seek out friends and have goals that someday you can have your material without those attachments. I for one will be proud of you if you do!

From my experience, our US society can and will try to make your life miserable if you profess different from the mainstream controls of organized religion. People generally do much better materially so far, just by clinging to the old system and repeating their verses and minding their own business otherwise, whether they think it is meaningless or not.

I have suffered and my family has suffered many losses for not being and giving to, professing different beliefs than that lifetime membership required. Even laws are passed to keep organized religion.

The Indians believe in "The Great Spirit". That is similar to my belief system. This is what I believe and it is ok if you discern me or have others do so.

renders the bond with the Church more perfect

Life does not always seem FAIR!

Hi! I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit and this is what I profess and try to act like.

Forgive Affirmed Spirit is the belief in a way of life that is a method of grief resolution and functional communication processing involving active listenning, sympathy, empathy and affirmation of shock, denial, anger, guilt, depression, loneliness and hope...a kind of ego-equilibrium seeking methodology.

A Greater Works of communication and action, a way to learn to love your enemies "Advocating mortal life, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you AS IF YOU WERE THEM!"

And nobody is perfect! NOBODY! We are all judgeable, hopefully in a graceful discerning way! We are all doing our best every moment!

Humans judge everything as we are a part of it. Without difference, we have nothing to live for, nothing to witness. Sin is difference, the relative seriousness with regards to law and survival of other beings, is punishable by the courts. The best way to judge is with as much graceful discernment as one can muster in a given moment!

Life is the question(uncertainty) asked by the exhaling infinitely compacted imagination invention, or no thing, which is completely certain of everything, completely omniscient or all knowing.

When I die, I believe I will be in a new state, aware of all that is and yet divided into the nature of dust that I am in, whereupon my dust shall fall. My being will remain an infinite part of an infinite being and infinite knowledge without my material human being status of now. So there will be a change.

But my soul, my passions and discompassions, will move on to infinite places of comfort and challenge. Able to return to this state of uncertainty and free choice illusion for another ride when it is called effectively to do so.

So that the children of God, the creations of God, .. are actually part in parcel of that God or Creation Energy!

This life is a roller coaster ride. Enjoy your passion within it and whatever gathering of two or more in Forgive Affirmed Spirit to make it better can garner.

Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine in

Forgive Affirmed Spirit

  1. great letter, but really a simple congratulations would work fine.

  2. i see and have percieved that you're more on the philosophic way of life. Quote:"So that the children of God, the creations of God, .. are actually part in parcel of that God or Creation Energy!

This life is a roller coaster ride. Enjoy your passion within it and whatever gathering of two or more in Forgive Affirmed Spirit to make it better can garner!" end quote.

Rather than encouraging this poor soul not to be lost forever with false doctrine. Luk 6:39  And Lord Jesus spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?  Therefore, must rely, trust and obey God's commandment is the best encouragement we can give to a person whose way is towards perdition! Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Mat 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I am also urging you to seek the truth and not an organization like you're in now. Only the Holy Words of God is the realiable source and manual to know the truth; Lord Jesus Christ said; Joh 5:37  And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

Joh 5:38  And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

Joh 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Joh 5:40  And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

That anyone who come to Him will have a rest in their soul and now Lord Jesus Christ is inviting you too:Mat 11:26  Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Mat 11:27  All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Mat 11:28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. AMEN.

Would you accept Christ Jesus' invitation?

  3. Nice gesture but needs a little editing.

    A bit long winded

  4. I think he's going to give up reading it after about the first paragraph.  If this is a teenage boy we're talking about, chances are he's not going to have the attention span to read that whole thing.

I'm not even saying that to be critical of the letter itself.

  5. What do I think?

In honesty, that until you fix your own belief issues and get yourself right in thought and deed you have no grounds or right to interfere in the delusions of others.

  6. I doubt he will bother reading it and I think you wasted your opinionated time writing it. Why bother him?

  7. Your letter is fantastic. but may not be  fully understood by a young boy. ( It is also unnecessary because this rite is not followed in the Bible)

YOU ARE BORN ONCE FROM ABOVE WITH WATER AND S:PIRIT OF THE HOLY GHOST OF GOD ( GENNEO ANOTHEN) OF GOD

I dont believe in Confirmation. We are Born from Above in Baptism

and there isn't any confirmation mentioned .to be followed

Nico.said. toi Jesus I  cannot go back into my mother;s womb

and Jesus said Nico You must be GENNEO ANOTHEN,  Bron from Above WIth WATER AND SPIRIT. ( OF GOD)

In Baptism , We are Genneo Anothen ( Greek) . Born from Above

With Water/  and the Spirit from Above ( Genneo Anothen)

Jesus showed us how to be Baptised

Jesus was baptised by John the Baptised in the River Jordon withWater/ and the Holy GHost was   ( GENNEO ANOTHEN Jesus came down .. in the Form of a Dove From Above.

  8. Great, Skahh, but too way erudite for a youngster. I recall my confirmation at age 13, and although I was a bright kid I could not have understood the import of what you were striving to communicate here. At the time I was "just following orders." Shortly after being confirmed, I fainted during Mass--which told me that I was in the wrong place. Turned out to be true, of course. Blessings to you.

  9. It's terribly long-winded, presumptuous and arrogant of you, actually. Your jaundiced views of his family's faith don't give you license to prosyletize your own brand of spirituality on the occasion of his receiving this sacrament.  Save it for when he's older and can discuss philosophy with you at leisure, one adult to another.  If I was his parent, I'd find this offensive.

  10. Ummm....the kid is 13. He's not going to read it most likely, but his parents might and could justifiably have some concerns about your strongly worded opinions. Send it and I can just about guarantee you'll never be invited to another event in that family's lives.
