Here is the email I sent;

"Nature true nature

The eagle flies across the sky looking for food or mate. Below the fish are swimming looking for food, be it bug or a smaller fish or frog. The deer carefully venture in the meadow to graze, fearful of the predators that lurk. They unknowingly desperately taking in all the protein for fat tissue to keep them through the winter. The mountain loin cubs are on their own now, a few have died to a predator, larger than them. They are too young to take down a deer, but from instinct, they try, but can only catch small game. Out of a large litter of 6, only 2 survive. The bear cubs too, are of age to leave the mother that brings them food. They are hungry like the young lion. Some get killed from crossing a highway others from starvation. Out of the 2 bear cubs, one is very lucky to survive.

Winter comes. Those who have not enough body fat to survive; die. The bitterly cold winds drain their body heat. Many die through the harsh winter in the bitter cold. Their corpses covered in snow, with scavengers ripping the frozen flesh off as it’s exposed. Leaving a morbid half eaten corpse/ skeleton come snow melt.

Spring comes, and all are very hungry. The lion takes down the new born fawn, who screams for her mother to save her. But the screams are to no avail, mother knows, its time to accept that loss and move on.

The eagle flies, carrying a struggling fish or rabbit to her young. They eagerly devour it. Alive.

This is a brief on nature. This is the heart less, efficient way of nature. It has worked before man walked the earth. And it will continue even if man no longer walks the earth.

All of mans works may fade away. But nature will carry on in its perfect efficiency.

Only true hunters understand this. And can make themselves a beneficial part of it.

Meanwhile the well fed humans in the city, who do not have to kill to eat, wonder about the hunter.

They think him strange, fearful and savage. How could a human kill? When all they love is nature; that kills?

See the problem here?

Bug eats plants, bigger bug eats him, frog eats that bug, fish eats frog, raccoon eats frog, lion eats raccoon, bear eats young lion, and man eats bear.

This is nature not the mall."

What do you think of this? Bad? Good? What?

  1. I completely agree with your point, but if I were an anti, I would not be convinced. Their argument is not that nature is above killing, but that humanity should be above its base nature. They don't blame a bear, who has no conscience, for killing, but they do blame us because we are supposed to see the morality of it.

I would use this as a baseline, but be sure to cover the angle of why man should not be above killing, and why shooting Bambi's mom is the right thing to do, even for moral minds like ours. Basically, calling killing heartless isn't getting us anywhere, because the antis are all heart, and will never agree to something they see as cruel. They think with emotion, not logic.

I have long given up on persuading the people who have chosen their positions. It's not like after reading an email someone is going to stand up, look up philosophically at their portrait of Al Gore, and say "Wow, I really have wasted my entire life believing the wrong things. I'm going to go buy a rifle, some ammo, and a hunting lease, and see if I can't kill a small part of God's creation." It would be wonderful if they did, and I'd pay handsomely to see it, but it will never happen.

    Good luck to you nonetheless.

  2. That is an awesome letter to some tree hugger. They don't seem to get that nature isn't Bambi. Death is a natural part of life, and killing is just as natural. As they sit, eating their veggie burger, cursing all those that dare venture into their perfect nature to kill, animals starve and are made homeless as the forests are cleared to plant the soy beans to make their food. Forced into our cities and farms, they die. They don't know it, but they kill more than the hunters do.

  3. wow your a EXCELLENT writer, while reading this you actually put me like in the drivers seat, meaning that i could see this all unfold in front of me, like i actually was there just watching it. EXCELLENT

  4. That's well thought out and well stated. I like it, man.

  5. Succinct.

  6. Brilliant

  7. Right On.....

  8. I shot Bambi's mom!

And that is a superb piece to give the hippies something to think about.

  9. very good and very true.

  10. I like it

  11. Your answer is awesome, I only hope that the recipient of this letter is enlightened enough to understand that man is not the master of the universe but only a part of the eco-system that we are born into.

We are the current alpha predator on planet earth, but that gives us the ability and the responsibility to manage game,  not exploit or use or destroy but to manage.

Those opposed to hunting simply do not understand that we have forced this role upon ourselves by destroying or forcing out Bears, Wolves and natural predators.

Hunters are the only humane source of population control of the virtual infestation of North American ruminants.

If we do not allow bows, and rifles to cull the exploding population of deer and other species we will have no choice to let Acuras and Subarus kill the deer while simultaneously risking human life.

  12. I don't think that it would get through to an anti-hunter.

I'm vegan and I happen to be pro-hunting and anti-factory-farming.

Anyone that is anti-hunting really needs to take the time to think for themselves to realize how stupid their stance is. You usually can't speak to them like regular people because they think they are better than you just because you aim and shoot at animals and they don't.

    It's really sickening, because

a)Most anti-hunters eat meat but they have animals live miserable lives in their own S**t and p**s, have some underpaid immigrant kill it for them and pick it up after it's been wrapped in plastic.

b)If they are vegan or vegetarian, they are absolute morons if they think that wild animals can't overpopulate and they'd rather have a wild predator ravage prey to death with their teeth/jaws/claws than have a skilled hunter take a clean shot and take it's last breaths without the fear of knowing it was being hunted. Let's not fail to mention that wild predators can also pose a threat to people, especially children.

    ================

I ended up becoming vegan because I have always lived in suburban or urban areas and I do not agree with modern animal agriculture.

If people like me and people that hunt to sustain themselves and feed their families can't get along, there is something seriously wrong.

  13. I love it.  I have one that I'd like to share with you too.  I didn't write it, but I think it's very good also.

"We need another, older, wiser, and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals.  Remote from universal nature and living through complicated artifice man surveys the animal and nature through the glass of his knowledge and there fore see's the images blurded and the hole image in distortion.   We patronize them for their  incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken a form so far below our own.  And there we error, and greatly error.  For the animal cannot be judged by man.  In a world older than ours, they move,  finished and complete.  Gifted with extentions of the senses that we have either lost, or never attained.  Living by voices we shall not hear.  They are not our brothers, they are not our underlings, they are other nations caught like ourselves in this endless cycle of time and life.  They like us are fellow  prisioners of the splendor and travail of the earth.  Caught like ourselves in the endless cycle of time and life, living and dying".   from his book The Ourtermost House by Henry Beston
