What was a 22 month old doing playing outside under a porch......ALONE???  I think she is negligent and is very lucky things turned out the way they did.  If the snake had killed the baby people would have been posting it on YA! asking "what do you think of this mom?" and no one would have said she was a hero.  So, since she left her baby alone but it wasn't hurt she is some kind of super mom?  Not in my book.

Yeah i'd agree that here in the US where i live that she'd be considered a terrible parent for leaving her baby unattended. I've been to europe though, specifically itally and life is more relaxed, slower there and they don't seem to have the same issues with that kinda thing as we do. If she had just stepped inside or up until that moment could see him from a window it wouldn't be too big a deal there...

But yes, I would have to congratulate her on saving the boy. I'd do the same thing of course but I can't imagine how aweful it would be to kill a snake by stepping on its head. I hate killing big spiders and hearing the crunch... eww.

how about congratulations, what you wrether he have saved the snake ??? lol but yeah she's a great mom! this story reminds me of the movie norbit, when the chinse guy [eddie murphy] was saying how norbit got bit by a poisonous snake by his butt whole.. lol wow i went all off subject but yeah thats what i would say...
