Now, I know you wouldn't feel different if the boyfriend killed the baby but just seeing the headline "Mother guilty of baby's microwave murder" just made me want to be sick. If the headline read "Father guilty of baby's microwave murder" would you react the same? Or feel more anger?

Thoughts or comments please =) Oh, and please don't swear or curse me out.

  1. If you're expecting me to be less disgusted by a father murdering his baby, then you'll be disappointed.  Also, any comparisons to abortion will be laughed at.

  2. Obviously the perpetrator has profound psychological problems.

Do mentally healthy people do this?

    The correct answer is "no".

    - When I read "Mother," I think "she has serious mental disorderS."

    - When I read "Father," I think "he has serious mental disorderS."

  3. Ok, that is disgusting and horrible.

I guess if the article was "Father guilty of baby's microwave murder" I would be more angry than disgusted.

It just seems unbelieveable that a mother would do that to her child.

  4. Wow, that is sick and sad.

I think I would feel equally mad. How could a parent do something like that, mother or father? It makes me want to stuff them in a microwave or something. How cruel...

But this is the difference: though I feel equally mad, I have different thought processes.

When I read "Mother," I think "oh, she probably has a mental disorder."

When I read "Father," I think "anger or plain stupidity caused this."

I think that's the way I think because of that idea that Mother's would never do that to their child if they're sane. It's that maternal instinct in them to protect their child, so they must not be in their right minds if they want to harm the kid. Father's are masculine and, to me, don't seem as prone to those fits of insanity, which I know is far from the truth. I think the level of masculinity is what makes me think differently of each.

  5. I would react the same. I would have either one taken behind a dumpster and summarily shot.

  6. I would react the same way whether it read mother or father in the headline. I find it disgusting that children (a baby, none the less) are subjected to bad inferior parenting. I think the government; instead of investing so much money in Arms and WARS that only benefit the rich. They should be investing that money into the children, who will be our future sooner rather than later.

They have no problems leaving the children behind, this is of course the what our money should be spent on http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/07/th... And that isn't even half of the weapons they have in development.

  7. What does the gender of a person have to do with the killing of a child.  It doesn't matter one way or the other. A baby is dead and that should be the focus and not the male or female did the killing angle.

  8. It doesn't matter to me. Father or mother it doesn't matter, an innocent baby was burned alive in a freakin microwave! Whoever did that deserves worse than prison.
