What do you think of this name for a baby girl

I just got finished reading a book named 'Where the Heat' is Billie Letts. an din the book this girl named Novalee Nation names her baby girl Americus. Do you think that Americus is a good name? or a creative name? Im not naming anyone that im just wondering.

I've read that book and saw the movie. It's called "Where the Heart Is". I thought Americus was quite an odd name actually and would not name my child that. But, that is my opinion only. Novalee isn't too bad though.

I personally don't like it.

The child would get continuously teased, especially in middle school.
