What do you think of the name

Hal

for a little boy? It reminds me of a dashing prince, though it is a bit flavorless in other light.

  1. Harold and Hal for short? Have you seen the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey?

  2. Personally I don't like it.  It reminds me of the wacky father on Malcolm in the Middle.  I also think the pronunciation is too close to h**l

  3. its ok. i would really need to know the childs full name to judge it.

  4. awww very cute :D

  5. It makes me think of Hal Sparks, the comedian. I don't really care for it though, sorry!

  6. very cute!!

  7. I should like it.  It just makes me think of an older person.  He'll grow into it.

  8. I think it's ok.  It's way better than all of the made up names that people use these days, just putting random syllables together, or stupid names like Grayson, Harrison, Carter, etc...  Just stupid.  Hal is a cool name.

  9. If you want him to be called Shallow Hal, go ahead.

Maybe add another 'a' to make it more unique -- Haal or Hael (still pronounced Hal though!)

  10. Not mad about it.

If you're looking for H names, what about Hayden?

  11. to be honest IN MY OPINON,  i dont like it

but for boy names that start with an "H"

    here you go

    Heylin

    Haver

    Hase

  12. haha cuteeeee.

  13. makes me think of shallow Hal. i would go with Gregory

  14. Hal. Yeah it's alright but I wouldn't say it was the best name I have ever heard. Sounds kinda plain and a bit old-fashioned as well.

  15. It reminds me of the Dad from 'Malcolm in the Middle'. It's not one of my favourite names, but I'm not adverse to it. The name would be quite distinctive on a young boy. It's certainly going to stand out, as the name was most popular in 1956, and is currently no longer ranked in the top 1000 names. Strangely enough, I prefer the nickname Al. It's not dissimilar to Hal, but I like that Al can be short for Albert, Alec, Alfred, Albus, Alan, Alexander, Alistair, Alasdair, Algernon etc.

  16. In my opinion it's suppose to be Heller which means in 8th century means prince.

  17. no no no remember hal from 2001 space odysee the computer that went psycho ich
