What do you think of the name 'Violet'?

Not over impressed, always think of "shrinking violet"

But better than some of the silly names around.  

Remember the child has to live with all their life and the taunts etc that go with it through school and life.

It is a little old fashioned, but that's not a bad thing. I like the name quite a lot, and have a few relatives who are called Violet. It's a very pretty name.

I like Violet.  Sure it's old fashioned but its very pretty and not overly used these days.  I had a great aunt Violet who was a truly lovely woman!  Oh but don't forget the daughter in The Incredibles movie was called Violet too!

I like it....it's unique but not made up and you can choose a number of nice nicknames from it: Lettie, Vee, Vye.

reminds me of the coldplay song violet hill. if u like that song then it would be cool to name her that and tell her the story of why you named her that. if not it doesn't really do anything for me but i can understand why people like it cos flower names are always popular.

Honestly, I think it's a nice name but do remember that people tend to become their names (strange but true) and a violet is a calm, peaceful, quiet, slips into the background without being noticed sort of name.  Think of Violet from The Incredibles without the super powers.

Of course, sometimes, a name can make a person.  The wrestler Big Daddy had the real name of Shirley!  Being a boy with a name like that, you'd better get real tough real fast!  lol

I really, really like the name Violet. Its beautiful, it suits all ages and I really, really like it. :D

Incase you are looking for middle names Penelope is nice.
