  1. I think it's pretty cute.  Maybe spelled Torren would be more masculine.  I do like it though :)

  2. I love it!  Torin sounds really cool and different, but not too over the top or messy.  It reminds me of the word taurine, that stuff in energy drinks that gives it all the energy lol.  And that word came from Taurus, which gives me the image of someone really strong and powerful.

Andrew is just a classic, and well-paired with the more unusual first name.

    Good luck and congrats!!

PS I also first thought you meant Tobin, but I love the sound of Torin as well lol.

  3. Torin is ok..but what will his nickname be?  Tori?  Because that makes me think of tori spelling...

  4. Hmm, my baby name books say that Torin is an actual Irish name meaning "thunder chief". But I still don't like it, it sounds too feminine and close to Tori.

  5. I like Torin Andrew.

  6. i like Andrew, but i am not too keen on Torin

  7. I wasn't sure when I first read it, but I do like it. It's unique and different but not too different or crazy. Since you've both agreed on it you should name him that.

  8. I think its a cute name...unique and flows well.

You could call him Tori or Andy for a nickname.

  9. I think that is a really neat name for your son. I don't think you will have to worry about a bunch of kids having the same name as him in school which is a good thing! Good luck! :)

  10. aww i like it.

we're actually calling my baby a Soaryn James if its a boy. I love love love different names like that.

  11. Andrew makes a nice middle name, I don't really like Torin though, sorry.  I reminds me of Tori I think... it's seems kinda unisex or something.

  12. Andrew is a fine English name, well Scottish - But Torin I've not hear that one before, is it from another country ?

But anyway if you both like the names, go ahead use them

  13. I LOVE that name you should definatley name him THAT

    Great name Love it

  14. Sounds cool

  15. i think its a g*y name you should name him like cole or something

  16. Torin is interesting.  I'd never heard it before, so I just looked it up.  Apparently it means "chief" in Irish Gaelic.  Since Irish names are definitely in right now, Torin seems like a reasonable choice -- he'll fit in just fine with all the Aidans, Owens, and Connors running around the playgrounds.  I like that it's not very common but its pronunciation and spelling are still very straightforward.  I must say that I'm not yet completely captivated by it, but I have respect for it, and it could grow on me.

I don't think Torin Andrew flows very well (maybe because of the two N sounds so close together).  Torin Andreas sounds better to my ears, as there's more contrast in the number of syllables and it takes the emphasis off the second N sound.

All in all, Torin Andrew (or Andreas) seems like a good choice if you're looking for something out of the ordinary that is still very wearable for a child.
