  1. What was his point...what was this quot referring to

  2. Ignorance is bliss, or simple needs fulfilled. In a nutshell.

  3. Is amazing how the drug abuse can make one person to say such things.

  4. Ignorance is bliss. The less you know, the less you have to worry about.

  5. I tend to agree.

It goes along with the idea that stupidity (or intentional ignorance) leads to happiness and that knowledge breeds sadness - as in this song from the musical "Wicked"

Dancing through life, skimming the surface

    gliding where turf is smooth

life's more painless, for the brainless

why think too hard? when it's so soothing

    dancing through life

    life is fraughtless

    when you're thoughtless

    those who don't try

    never look foolish

  6. I think he was probably saying that people don't examine their lives, and should set higher standards in that regard.

    I think:

People make concessions about how they live, for example many jobs don't have much personal meaning for the person who works it. People often choose to make some meaningless concessions in order to create  a more imperative meaning in other facets of their lives, but superficially, it looks like people don't have any sense. Everyone is confused, but people busy themselves for rewards of a full day, getting exercise, being understood, feeling unity, and of course, getting money.

He may have meant satisfied instead of happy, because he said that these dumb people were lonely. I myself don't believe in loneliness as much as people throw the term around. I think people are are so afraid of solitude and self-reckoning that they project the term lonely on anyone alone, and onto themselves when alone, instead of trying to fulfill themselves. As you get older, or if you have a job like mine (massage) where you get personal with the full spectrum of people, from artists to office workers, you have a  better understanding of the motivations of all sorts, and have less to condemn, but for a young artist like Cobain, the uninspired way people are drawn into their life choices is repulsive.

  7. He was losing his mind so I wouldnt give it much thought
