I think its a little stiff. I dont know how to fix it. I think maybe make the stem a little rugged and ad some not so straight eye lashes. What do YOU think?

  1. try some more shadows on the stem under the eye and on the eye lashes

human eyes always focus on the lights and darks in art so try lights and darks

    love the idea very creative

  2. I think that if you like the subject, you should paint another one.  It will be different and you can try out your ideas then.  This one looks done.

  3. wow mal. great job! definitely have talent there.

  4. It's great. I think you should do a series of similar paintings, maybe 20 or so. Then compare the 1st one with the last one to see your improvements

    Keep Arting!

  5. Add some burnt umber if you want some definition to the eyeball.  Add this to areas where there is darker shading such as under the eyelashes to the top right and lower right.  Also, just something I learned by reading a tutorial on Deviant Art, the eye ball is a sphere so when you add a line of burnt umber to the outer edges of the eyeball then mix yellow ochre and white as the next shading colors towards the iris and just after the lines of burnt umber.  This will give it depth.  Also add just a tad of blue to the white/yellow ochre part because an eyeball has these colors.  The iris, according to the tutorial I read, said to use payne's gray to form the iris then blot with a darker color in that color and remember the lower part of the iris is darker.  Use yellow ochre as your next color in the middle, but ontop of a chose eye color such as green or blue.  Then black for the pupil and once dry add the white highlight.  The eyelashes are cool.

    Peace

  6. Wow thats a cool abstraction. I like it :) Do you want the eyelashes to be perfect? If you want it to be abstracted more, I would leave them the way it is. If you want them to look more realistic you should add a lot more and put them in different directions. Look at someone's eyelashes or on a picture and study them.

  7. very expressive and unique  realy well positioned

  8. Hi! I think it's great!! Your elements are

wonderful. My 'only' suggestion is to make

your background opaque.. one solid tone.

It will make your painting POP!

    Keep up the good work:)
