we are a nation of pansies. we are coddled and comforted because we feel bad about ourselves. but richer people are able to afford more expensive comforts and coddeling which just makes the poor people jealous and in need of more comforting and coddeling. basically, we are ALL HUGE WIMPS! wadya think?

  1. I am not from the US, so apologies for butting in here, but let me offer a different perspective.

The USA worked and fought hard for its freedoms, justice, rights and riches. And yes, it got lucky by being the only major power not bought to its knees by the wars of the last century - but luck falls where it falls (same as Spain, France, Portugal, Netherlands, UK etc all got lucky in different centuries).

The USA has lots of good people, a fantastic sense of community, unenviable freedoms and a strong internal economy. But it is tainted by a strange mix of arrogance, paranoia, and too many lawyers.

You can drop the arrogance, it isn't needed; you can drop the paranoia, there's no cause for it; and shoot the lawyers if you must.

But wimps? I've never met an American who looked or behaved remotely like a wimp. Not unless wimp means something different over there than it does over here.

    Don't do yourselves down.

  2. I definitely agree, in alot of ways

But yeah, Im assuming your talking about the United States.

    I dont know though

But I know Im a wimp alot of the time.

    Bah

    Hahaha

  3. You didn't say it specifically, but I'm guessing you're talking about the United States?

If so, I wouldn't necessarily call it a nation of wimps.  Everyone acts like a wimp at some point, and the United States is going through a recession, so it's natural that people feel a bit lost and wish to be taken care of.

It's possible that people in the United States tend to be a little bit paranoid, but I wouldn't generalize that they're all wimps.
