What do you think of this proverb/aphorism?

I was feeling creative the other day and I came up with this. Please tell me if you think it is any good.

"People who Care for you are like fireflies.

Although you swat at them in the daylight,

When darkness veils your path

and you lose all direction,

they're still there to illuminate the velvet night

and guide you safely,

home."

That's really good, Lauren, but I don't like the "swat at them" part, I'd rather say ,"you don't see them in the daylight"...
