Wahabis have been religiously criticized for labeling many major Muslim groups, such as Sufi and s**+'a Muslims, as apostates. They also take stances against the graves of saints, and the practice of Tawassul which consists of asking the saints for prayer on their behalf.

Wahabis have also committed controversial and violent actions against Muslims. In 1801 and 1802, the Saudi wahhabis under Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad ibn Saud attacked and captured the holy s**+'a cities of Karbala and Najaf in Iraq, massacred parts of the s**+'a population and destroyed the tombs of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad, and Ali bin Abu Talib, the son-in-law of Muhammad. In 1802 they occupied Taif where they also massacred the population. In 1803 and 1804 the Saudis captured Mecca and Medina and destroyed historical monuments and various holy Muslim sites and shrines, such as the shrine built over the tomb of Fatima Zahra, the daughter of Muhammad, and even intended to destroy the grave of the Prophet Muhammad himself

  2. there is no such thing as a sufi its suni

it is a strict orthodox suni muslim sect founded by Mohammed ibn Abd Al-Wahhab

It advocates the return of early islam of the korean and sunna rejecting later innovations the sect is still predominant force in saudi arabia

  3. I assume that what you have included is copied directly from wikipedia even though you haven't used quotation marks.  If that is true then the only decision to be made is "is it true or is it false."  If it is true then it must be accepted.  If it is false (please show where) then it must be rejected.

  4. I think Wikipedia is certainly not a reliable source of information on any subject, religious or otherwise.

I don't agree with Wahabi philosophy, but I definitly will not get my information from Wikipedia.

love for all, hatred for none

  5. Terrible inaccuracies in this reference.

    1) What are Wahhaabis? What are their beliefs which differ from Ahlus Sunnah?

    2) Not all the Soofees commit shirk. Some of them do, such as those who worship the dead by calling upon them for Help. This is prohibited in Islaam:

    Al-Haafidh ibn Hajar said:

((Seeking aid from the creation is not allowed and the proof is in the Hadeeth 'If you seek aid, then seek aid from Allaah'))

    Fath-al-Baree 13/381

    3)  The graves are not to be turned into places of worship or attractions, saints or Prophets or other than them. This is from the principles of Ahlus Sunnah.

Jundub Ibn ‘Abdullaah al-Bajalee said that he heard the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say - five days before he died: "Verily those before you took the graves of their Prophets and righteous people as places of worship, so do not take the graves as places of worship. Indeed I forbid you from this!" Related by Muslim (2/67-68), Aboo ‘Awaanah (1/104) and others.

    4) Tawassul is of permitted and prohibited types, and asking the "saints" to make prayer on your behalf if they are dead is shirk and removes one from Islaam.

    Allaah says:

((And they worship other than Allaah that which will not harm them or benefit them and they say that they are their intercessors with Allaah)) Surah Yunus: 18

    5) The reason the shrines in Karbalah were leveled was of two fold, the attack was not offensive as the Shee'ah Raafidhee tribe of Banu Khaalid had constantly been attacking Dir'iyyah. And second they were following the command of the Prophet salallaahu alaihi wa salam which was what 'Alee radhiallaahu anhu called to:

From Abul-Hayyaaj al-Asadee who said: "‘Alee Ibn Abee Taalib said to me: 'Shall I not send you for what the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) sent me? That you deface all statues and pictures and that you level all elevated graves.'"

Related by Muslim (3/61), Aboo Daawood (3/70), an-Nisaa‘ee (1/285) and others.

    6) There was very little bloodshed in Taa'if, actually the reality was that the Ottomans had attacked Aal Sa'ood and this was after the death of Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab as he had a peace treaty with the Shareef that they implement Tawheed and they can remain the rulers of Hijaaz. This was recorded in Taareekh Najd and other than it.

    7) 'Abdullaah Ibn Sharjeel Hasanah said: "I saw ‘Uthmaan Ibn ‘Affaan order the leveling of the graves. So it was said to him: 'This is the grave of Umm ‘Amr the daughter of ‘Uthmaan!' However, he commanded that it too should be leveled."

Related by Ibn Abee Shaybah in al-Musannaf (4/138) and Aboo Zur‘ah in at-Taareekh (22/2) with an authentic chain of narrators.
