Yeah so I went to a meet and greet at an elementary school last week and one of the children's name was seriously K8lynn! I was so mad. I don't know why it hit me as so unfair to the child but I was really ticked off. I am so glad I might never meet the parents. I would most likely have a fit on them! I mean truly how is she supposed to learn to spell it out in cursive? There isn't even an option for a numeral in names on some forms!! WOW! What do you think??

  1. She can use the & symbol for cursive. She'll be the first to be able to get a customized license plate without deviating from the actual spelling of her name.  And who knows, her parents may have just made her famous.  I don't know why, possibly my own conditioning, but I love it. could have been K8l& (Kateland... That would have been neat too).

  2. I thought you were joking before I opened the question! I can't believe that parents would go that far with a name. I'm 100% with you! That's just blown my mind to think that parents have done this! The poor child, I feel sorry for her.

  3. Yeah but not as bad as Talula does the Hula in Hawaii

  4. That is awful. Poor kid ]:

  5. LOL That's cruel!!

  6. Oh, for the love. I so agree with you on this. I am all for cute and different baby names, I just wish people would stop trying to be SO creative at the expense of the child.

  7. What the heck?  That is ridiculous.  Maybe on a license plate, but not  in real life.

  8. This seems to be a case of things to come. The whole 'CYBER THING' is bleeding off the computer into everyday life. I was forced to give this some thought when I accepted an application from a young man that fill out the application as if he was in a chat room on line.

He symbolized words, used abbreviations [lol-ppl-enuff.] he went as far as giving his username, scratched through it and  squeezed  his name in an area not big enough to read.

Maybe I'm the older generation and so the next rebellious cyber counterculture begins.

I agree with your thinking, we both may be ready for our  retirement checks and the rocker chair!               GO-FIGURE!!!

                                      "BRILLIANT"!!!!

    EDIT:              LEGAL NAME

    Aubrey, c|heck this number out {GEORGE BUSH lll }

  9. I doubt it's legally spelled that way. In the USA a child cannot have numerals in the name.

  10. Text message names?  Or did they just see it on a license plate and like the way it looked?

How incredibly tacky and trashy.  That child is going to hate her parents.  Can you imagine having to clarify that for the rest of your life?

"No, that's K-8-L-Y-N-N.  Yes, 'eight,' as in the numeral."

  11. Wow. She IS going to hate her parents. And hopefully she has a nice middle name that DOESN'T involve a number that she can use until she turns 18 and changed it. I'd hate my parents if my name had a number in it...

  12. i think it's completely ignorant of the parents.

you know, a judge actually took a child away from the parentsbecause they wanted to name it "tallulah-does-the-hula".

    it's just totally stupid.

  13. Oh my goodness! That makes my blood boil! Why on earth would you do that to a child?! I'd love to hear what the parents have to say for themselves! Reading this has got me really angry! What next? People will be spelling Andrew - "&rew" ?!

  14. I hope she has a good middle name, because I'm sure she will be using it one day.
