They're hypocrites. Helmets are expensive, that's why most are not wearing one.

i 've seen this on the evening news too and i laugh so hard seeing those cops.....if there will always be footage like this, discipline would be surely be put in the land on a more regular basis.Those cops shown would be under hot water,LMAO!

thanks for posting this question. You are helping putting the law back into the land.I  wonder why police enforcers or those who have connections has a knack not to follow the law thinking they would get away with it and exempted from penalties . Now that they are documented, they may lose their jobs at the worst.As Alfredo Lim said "the law applies to all, otherwise , none at all".

about the comments of the answerer above me, yes,it's true, non DOT approved helmets are worthless, those cheap ones crack easily.So,what's the use of wearing one.

in our city the helmet is a must. but that doesn't mean no one breaks the law.

I was apprehended by a non-helmeted motorcyclist cop for not wearing a helmet. I asked him why he is not wearing one. He replied Bakit? Pulis ako! Anyway, 99.99% of motorcyclist are wearing cheap helmets which are not DOT approved and can cause serious head injury, made of plastics and the possibility of head puncture

Helmet laws in PI are a joke.  They are only enforced whenever they need to collect some fines to pay the light bill or they need some Fundadore or Tanduay.  Even when they do "crack down" you see riders wearing construction hard hats, styrofoam liners, and other misc junk that will pass for "something on your head" just to keep from being stopped.  After a couple days, everything goes back to normal and nobody is wearing anything.
