I am going to start american homeschooling next month and i am going to work hard and i have disabilities but i am not letting my disabilities stop me. I will get some help and to learn the materials. I am ready to learn.

I am planning after 4 years to go to college at gallaudet university. Because they have the best special education programs and can meet my needs the best and i know i will have to give up alot in my life to go there but i am willing to do whatever it takes. I want to major in special education ,psychology and some deaf education. I have mild mental retardation and deafness and some other special needs but i want to show myself that i can suceed and change what the books say how much a person with mild mental reatrdation can do and change the outlook for education and everything for people with special needs. I want to improve in what is thought of people with mild mental retardation, this will show others that you can't use the disability as a crutch.

  1. I feel proud of you you are so determined good luck!

  2. I think that is a great vision, my only concern is that you have some kind of accountability person regarding your home schooling. Will you have a parent involved or someone that can check your work and help you if you get stuck on something? Mentally impaired or not, everyone needs a person to check their work and to hold them accountable for their grades. Gaullaudet is a great college. I am learning American Sign Language from a woman who was a professor there for a long time. Good luck.

  3. I wish you all the best, it sounds like you have a good plan.

  4. Good for you! I have Aspergers Syndrome (a form of high functioning autism) and I am working on by bachelor's degree and trying to become a LPN.  It's a challenge, but don't let that stop you, you can do it!
