i think of that scene from monty python and the holy grail when they throw the cows over the castle wall, and the french taunting becomes too much for the english.. and also when they build that giant bunny and send it into the castle only to have the french catapult it right back at them....

A cross between a romantic vision of castles in fairy tale books and the reality, which is that most are cold, damp and draughty.  When you look at them (not worrying about how to heat them) They are generally quite imposing and beautiful.
