I've always wondered what this means, I've seen it on signs at several protests, as well I've heard it in the songs by the Killers but I never quite understood what's the meaning behind these words. I also recently just saw Nike use this quote in their commerical. Does anyone really know what it means?

  1. Personally, I have no idea, BUT here's a website where people talk about their favorite songs and what exactly the lyrics mean: www.songmeanings.net.  (The link below leads directly to the song you were talking about.)

  2. It means that people think today's army is not about protecting the country but the governments twisted ideas.  It means that people want to protect this country, but they can't follow the government's orders when they aren't with reason.
