  1. i think teachers should be strict to a certin extent, they shouldnt be super mean/strict but theirs a certin point where you need to be strict to have control of your classroom. so to anwser your question yes teachers should be strict but they should also be nice.

  2. i think a teacher play avery-2 imp.role in a student life.a ideal teacher should be polite in someway or should be strict in some way.wo kahte hai na"agar ghee sidhe se na nickle to unglee tadhi karni padti hai'

  3. to get things done teaching today teachers have no choice chaos leads to no learning

  4. I have been teaching now for 3 years and I have a very strict classroom. Not to the point that my student dread coming to my class, but they do know that I mean business when it comes to their education.

  5. Not necessarily, you set up expectation and procedures and stick to them, but that does not mean you are strict.

  6. Depends on the grade level.  But for the most part I think teachers need to be strict and stick to the idea of teaching our kids.  I do not want my kids to go to school only to have fun and not learn anything, but again I do not want them to hate school and not want to go either.   I think the instructors I learned the most from were the more strict instuctors who taught the courses and did not get side tracked into talking about the basketball game last night and forgot to give us the daily lecture notes.

  7. It's a matter of tact! Discipline is essential, so is friendliness, and some humour and fun approach to win the hearts of your wards, and make the best rapport with them!

  8. duhh... in all my classes the ones that were quiet and nice to the teacher were the ones who layed down the law

  9. Strictness is a life style. Everyone should be strict.

  10. Yes..

    but that creates the rules.

All life has it's absolutes, that is just the way it is.

It does not have to make the class un-pleasant.

  11. ya teachers should be strict otherwise discipline will not be there in the classroom

  12. Yes, but it depends on the situation. First he should be courteous and reminds the things many times regarding studies and regarding rules and regulation twice or thrice.  Warn them politely if they donot obey then be strict. not all the time. This is obstacle between teacher and students and students could not gain whatever they want.

    Hope it is clear

  13. Depends on what you mean by strict. Mean/brutal where you scare kids the first month or punish some severely to set an example? Heck no, those dinosaurs should retire if they still do that.

But, strict is essential. You must have clear, detailed expectations that are taught over and over and over throughout the year. Any violation of expectations should be responded to, usually with a reminder of the expectation the drop it (unless of course they refuse to get back to expectations but I am not going to type that much). You must have unwavering dedication to your expectations and NO ONE is allowed to violate them. However, if a student violates an expectation you did not DETAIL for them, you have absolutely no right to discipline them. (for example, a student gets up to throw away garbage while you are talking but you only allow that during indpendent work time and you didn't teach them that, or let even a single student get away with it)

Finally, resorting to detention, suspension, etc. may be needed in a small minority of cases, it is the least effective form of discipiline and actually leads to increased poor behavior.

  14. This is an extreme important question and there is no definite answer for this on the face of it , at least to start with.

Why have we got to become strict ? is it that there is a defficiency in the teacher himself ?

The real fact is we make our lessons supremely disinteresting and then complain about the inattention of the child. Ther are some teachers who are extremely popular because they hold the attention and concentration of the class by making the class lively. they know the subject, they prepare for the class in advance , and genuinely try and understand the students and try and become inwardly one with them. A teachers job if truly well done is a verydifficult one , because he truly tries to bring out the best in the student as an individual soul . he intuitively knows each of his students inwardly and cares for the development of each soul.

Actually three basic principles of education should be followed at least for the mental level according to Sri Aurobindo :

    1) Nothing can be taught. A teacher is a helper and guide.

    2) The child must be consulted in his growth . the idea of  a parent or  a teacher wanting that a child should become a doctor or  a engineer is a wound to the individual soul, a wound to the nation he belongs, and a wound to the humanity of which he is a part .

    3) Work from near to far . I f you are teaching history or Geography teach about the geography of thearea in which the school is located, speak about the greatness of the people inthat area and visit both the geographically the rivers and mountains in the area ; observeand speak about the archeological sites in your area . This will keep the interest of the child alive , he will automatically be attentive and concentrate on the subject . There will be no necessity for you to be strict .

Children are the  innocence incarnate. They are the flowers that bloom. It is the prerogative of the teachers to be near them to raise and uplift their own souls !

  15. Do not spare the stick and spoil the child. There is a thin line between being strict and harsh.

  16. I THINK TEACHERS SHOULD NOT BE STRICT IN THEIR CLASSES .TEACHER SHOULD USE VOCCATIONAL TRAINING TECHNIQUE TO TEACH.HE SHOULD GIVE NOTES,LECTURE NOTES,DAILY TEST PAPER,ASK QUESTIONS,PREPARATION EXAMS THEN FINAL EXAMS......................................

  17. i dont think that a teacher must always be strict.  but i do think that at the beginning of the school year, it is good for a teacher to be strict because students can then get into the habit of behaving properly.  once the class understands what is expected of the behaviorally, a teacher can let up a bit.

  18. I'd say "authoritative".

A good teacher can be friendly, polite, and respectful... and can conduct a class in a student-centred, humanistic way... and yet still command respect, and have good control of the pace and interactions in the class.

  19. no not at all they should me friendly......
