  1. Yes

we left a reflector on the moon that we regularly bounce laser beams off

we have rocks - which are subtly different from Earth rocks (although so are meteorites, and their are lunar meteorites)

    Why would we fake it?

  2. Yes, there is indisputable proof we did land upon the Moon but no proof at all that we did not do so.

  3. It was cheaper to land people on the Moon than to fake it.  Consider that Watergate, which had maybe a hundred people, couldn't keep a secret.  NASA, with thousands of people had no chance to keep such a secret.  It's easier to just land people on the Moon.

It's not terribly easy to land people on the Moon.  Apollo 13 didn't make it.  The astronauts made it back to Earth, but not to the Moon. But it's still easier than keeping a big secret like this.

The other evidence is that the Parks observatory tracked the spacecraft and monitored their communications.  This isn't a US installation. It would be very difficult to have faked these communications.

Finally, there are ham radio operators.  They're amazing.  It was ham radio operators who announced the location of the new super secret Soviet launch site.  They tracked some of the first satellites launched from there, and worked out where they must have launched from.  Careful observations and a little math is all they needed. There is no way to silence the dedicated amateur. For one thing, you don't know who they are in advance.

  4. We did

    \I was there

    Armstrong

  5. You know...most people who are old enough to remember that time in history would tell you that's right around the time we started to lose our "innocence" and trust in the basic "rightness" of the world.

Kennedy was shot, Nixon "lied to us all ...on TV!" (a thing previously thought to be impossible because we beleived everything on TV, a trust now reserved for the internet, and religion by some.)  and mass murders became part of life. They existed before, I'm sure, we just didn't know because we had no TV and radio had ethics;)

My point is that the government, before Nixon, had NO REASON to lie to us...we trusted it to do the "right" thing. So , if they didn't want to go to the moon, we probably would have agreed it was in our best interests.

And, in the years following the moon landing conspiracy theories were the order of the day. We questioned everything else, even soap. So, why did we NOT question the moon landings? The government simply did not need to lie to us before we "got wise" and we knew that.

Besides, the Russians were no dummies, if anyone would have found  (RELIABLE) evidence against it....they would have. And they didn't.

  6. I watched the live coverage of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo launches, as well as the live coverage of all the Moon walks. Hundreds of thousands of people worked on the project.  It was a much bigger deal than anything that has happened in your lifetime if you are younger than me. It was very public and well observed by the world, including by communist governments who wanted it to fail so the U.S. would look bad in the eyes of the world. And none of those communist governments has ever claimed it was faked. No way all that was faked. No way at all.

  7. no we didn't   :P

  8. Not we, but certain astronauts.

  9. of course. it's so well documented that anybody questioning it must have an awfully good reason to do so. why do you ask?

later: "just a question" can be extremely hurtful and insulting to ppl. tread cautiously.

  10. no not us but, a guy named Neil Armstrong did
