There is much debate about some of the chinese gymnast over their age and whether they should be stripped of their medals. I don't know what to think about this. I mean yes, if they are underage then they did violate the rules, whether they are fair rules or not, and should be stripped of their medals. But on the other hand they had to be pretty d**n good to win the gold, so it would seem to be a bit unfair. Give me your opinion about what you would do. And yes i know this question has been asked plenty of times, so please dont rant about that.

  1. The fact that they were underage gave them an advantage so, they should be stripped of their medals and automatically disqualified from competing in any olympics and Chinese gymnastics should be disqualified from London in 2012.

  2. If the IOC can find evidence then medals should be taken from them. Yeah they are talented but they don't deserve it if they are cheating (well the chinese government are).

  3. Let 's say they have violated the rules by sending someone as young as 14, she managed to beat all the older and more experienced gymnasts and won the gold. She proved to be the best despite her age and I think that's good enough. Gold or no gold.

  4. She should keep her medal ofcourse cause she deserved to win it. she practiced hard enough and was good enough to be able to win it..its not her fault, its not like she should be prosecuted..if they won medals if cause they are good enough, who says that only older gymnasts can win the gold?..there are many younger gymnasts who also have capacity to win a medal, regardless their age.

  5. Yup, but the IOC doesn't have enough evidence to justify stripping the medals from them.  They can't just strip people of medals based on US suspicions.

  6. To anybody that says, "Oh well who cares if they're only 14, they beat all the older girls.", again, this point is brought up. The only retort is, there are rules!!!!!!!!!! If there is an age limit, you obey it or you don't get medals!!!!!!!!! Example, in Football, if a team is the home team, has the best record in football, and makes the NFL the most money of any team, and they (team strongarms governing body, see Beijing Olympic Gymnastics 2008) decide, that Holding penalties can't be called against them for these reasons, and the win because of the lack of holding penalties, is it fair, would you say "Well, no holding penalties on them they deserve to win!" NO, you would say what the h**l happened this game, this C***s didn't get one holding called on them. The Chinese took advantage of the IOC's pussiness (if that is a word) and took medals away from countries that deserved them, with great traditions that played fair, like Russia and Romania.
